Is there anything better than to have to be somewhere for a meeting and then the meeting is cancelled and it turns out you don't have to go? I think not.

Every now and then I see a post and think ‘oh no, you don’t do your thinking with those concepts do you? Those are posting concepts, not thinking concepts’ and I think this tracks a meaningful distinction.

There is a case to be made that any board of a university that signed an agreement that required paying a fee has breached their fiduciary duty and I think somebody should explore it
The Trump administration is no longer trying to get cash from Harvard as it seeks a settlement. At this point, the White House seems happy to get a signature on anything they can call a compact.

By connecting broadband detection directly to the integrated quantum Fisher information (see our previous work: journals.aps.org/prapplied/ab...), we give a geometric explanation of the lower bound.
Opportunities and Limitations in Broadband Sensing
Detecting a signal at an unknown frequency is a common task, arising in settings from dark-matter detection to magnetometry. For any detection protocol, the precision achieved depends on the frequency...

New paper with Anthony Polloreno! We show that the Grover-like lower bound for broadband sensing is actually the familiar metrological fisher information constraint! We also find it can be saturated with a simple randomized SSH Hamiltonian---no QC needed! scirate.com/arxiv/2601.1...

Your father is choking your brother. What do you do?

Well, if your father is choking your brother, it is necessary to stop your father. You'd probably stop trusting somebody who said it wasn't necessary; anyway, I'd hope so.

There are a lot of ways to stop your father.

Exactly right.

Bovino's leaving? Great, get Noem to resign.

Noem resigns? Great, defund and dismantle ICE.

Go after Stephen Miller too. Bring charges against ICE thugs at the state and local level. Lawsuits. New state laws restricting them.

Every possible angle.
They are wounded and flailing. Press the advantage.

A lot of faculty nearly died, so UW reconsidered the policy. And all it took was a historic storm!

My apologies to everyone who has heard this story before.

Back in the 1970s, two things were true about UWaterloo:

* UW never, ever closed.
* Many faculty members owned farms.

Cue the Great Storm of 1978.

Thank you to the associate dean for helpfully letting me know that I’m entitled to schedule a makeup class on Saturday if I’d like to HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHA

Ultimately you're not supposed to believe it. It not mattering is the point. The bolder the lie, the greater the impunity. The ultimate victory for evil is not convincing you, it's the truth being irrelevant.
We’re supposed to believe this is a domestic terrorist attacking ICE with a gun
