Working class solidarity. We can do things ourselves.

Independent IT is important. Shop local counts for us, too.

AI is for huge dorks.

I would die of embarrassment.

And I will absolutely shame someone if they ask me this.
Just like asking for a business card 🙄

Starting a new nation with education and healthcare. Has anybody thought of this?

I can’t even. This would be top tier shitposting if it wasn’t sincere.
You're anti AI and pro working class where's your self reflection?

Being pro-worker means embracing the tool that lets workers produce without corporate infrastructure Thats the biggest shift in labor history. The enemy isn't the tool its the class that exploits labor regardless of what tools exist

I visit my neighborhood Circle K multiple times a day. Have for decades now. For better or worse it’s a third space for me.

I went in today and they said the manager, Julie, died suddenly this morning. I just talked to her yesterday at work. She was in her 50s and totally fine. And now she’s gone.

What is a man?

(Seriously, that’s the answer)

“Yes, that’s all.

No, I don’t want to round up for students

In fact, I want to round down for myself.”

My boys have a bunch of magnetic Minecraft blocks but they just play Numberblocks with them.

Kinda like the mural at the dentist office waiting where you have to find all the secret items. They don’t have many stars on Yelp.

This is the root cause. None of our problems will get better until the antisocial billionaires are removed.

Capturing society’s output and selling it back to us is exactly the phrase I’ve been looking for.
> To those who [...] use fear and intimidation to help sell the agenda of the big tech CEOs who [...] use coal-fired GPUs to capture society’s output and sell it back to us[...]: I not only scold you, I shun you. That goes double if I once admired and respected you.

It's unchartered, but we can see the terrain: the territory ahead includes masked secret police taking people to concentration camps but not new vaccines. That's our reward for a system in which fewer than 20 people, all of them deranged and malicious, control over $3 trillion.
The pace at which US wealth concentration is rising is simply staggering

The concentration of AI wealth into the hands of a few tech barons + plutocratic capture ==> unchartered territory

it's a mass, growing realization among everyday americans that the institutions they put their faith in to protect them — law enforcement, the government, the Democratic party — won't. it's a radicalization that leads to an intimate understanding of the axiom "we protect us"

No son, they are not "magically delicious." The workers made them delicious. This is a slogan meant to mystify the social conditions of labor

Its wild that we’ve just accepted that gofundme is the way to survive in this country.

We’re still paying taxes and getting nothing in return.

The upside is that we’ve learned that we can take care of each other. We already know how to do that.
GoFundMe, mutual aid, etc etc etc.
They're making us do fucking gig socialism.

Really proud of this guy for getting out there and not burying his head in the sand.
Yesterday morning kids were sent running from their bus stop in panic because ICE showed up. This guy at today’s ICE Out of Lindenwold protest is a must watch 😭. @maddow.bsky.social

something i think is fun and neat is that we are slowly coming back around again to some of the the more successful models of privacy & moderation on BBSs, like paid subscriptions and independent mod verification... but i think we should bring back "call the sysop and ask if you can join the board"

Falling behind isn’t real. AI is not inevitable.
The whole thing is exhausting.

I think that’s the core of my disgust: the idea that it all needs to happen faster and faster.

Alright. Discord is definitely done for.
turns out the discord situation is worse! the company that will be doing the age verifications with IDs is Persona, a peter thiel aligned company

we're going to try to wind down the Kill The Computer discord and try to get a subreddit for the podcasts community up and running
