Another Caribbean story. In 1802, the French military kidnapped the most prominent leader of the Haitian Revolution Toussaint Louverture, who was deported to France and died in prison at Fort de Joux in 1803.

Another story of colonial rendition. Abd el-Krim, the Berber independence leader who organized armed resistance against 🇪🇸 and 🇫🇷 in Morocco and founded an independent Rif Republic. After surrendering in 1926, he was exiled by France to the island of Réunion until 1947.
