Right: There are 6,619 wind farms in China, and they create 40 % of the world’s wind electricity generation

Starmer and co have just sneaked out the until now suppressed national security report on the climate and ecological crisis

It's grim, but it is only a few pages long and doesn't look like the full report

When are we going to see the rest of it Mr Starmer

This is a truly horrifying account of increasingly likely collapse of essential natural systems which would bring mass food shortages, price rises & global disorder. Commissioned from UK intelligence chiefs but scandalously suppressed by Govt, & sneaked out now while attention is elsewhere 👇

I can see why the govt would want to hush this up. If people were aware of the seriousness of the threats, they'd demand immediate action.

At current rates of biodiversity loss, every critical ecosystem will collapse. This means food shortages, inflation and famine.

Media attacks on Miliband exceeded 2024 levels by April 2025. This is in the context of an anti-climate government in which Miliband has consistently failed to do anywhere near enough. Imagine what they'd do if we had a minister who actually acted like we're in a crisis.
The Ed Miliband hate-fest in the UK press continued last year.

Predominantly right-wing newspapers published an incredible 112 editorials attacking the energy secretary.

That's two editorials a week, and more than twice as many as 2024, calling him a "crazed" "zealot" suffering with “eco insanity”

Compare & contrast. This is Trump’s demand for Greenland. And this is Hitler’s for the Sudetenland.

There is no difference. The language. The unstoppable need to dominate. The megalomania. It’s the same.

And Keir Starmer’s response is appeasement. We are in that moment.

The reason politicians and the legacy media lie about our economy is because the economic decisions they make, which only benefit them and other wealthy people, are indefensible in the light of the truth about our modern economic system. @richardjmurphy.bsky.social explains.

It is the source of so many of our evils: the astonishing concentration of wealth in the hands of a very few, and the immense political power that gives them. We cannot solve our problems until we tackle it.

There are many excuses for failing to tax the ultra-wealthy. The truth is that governments don’t tackle the problem because they don’t want to, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Disgusting intimidation and bullying tactics by our increasingly authoritarian govt. All schools should ban pro-genocide MPs as a matter of basic safeguarding.
This is legitimately fucked up? Schools live and die on their Ofsted rating and the government are leaning on a school for not wanting the vice chair of 'Labour Friends of Israel' lecturing them?

Continued evidence of the role our disinformation media plays in deepening the climate and ecological crisis. Their sole purpose is to keep people in the dark, and spread propaganda about important news topics.

We need a #MediaRevolution
Truly wild that the Sun, Daily Mail, Daily Express & Daily Telegraph all covered false claims that net-zero will "cost" £7.6bn – or even £9tn – which assumes we could have free gas, free petrol, free petrol cars & free gas power plants if we scrapped net-zero
