That was such a good read, Glenny. Your mom's "wife-in-law" phrase makes me smile and I get a quick sense of her sensibility, you know? Your memoir-in-progress (I got one too) sounds very interesting and I look forward to seeing it in print in the not-too-distant future.

I can see some folks just want a funny recap. So let me assure you: that is part of this. I make lots and lots and lots of jokes about how absurd and gross these people are. Dark humor abounds.

I just also want to say something deeper, but I promise, lots of tasty candy with your veggies.
You can get your recaps elsewhere! I include some bizarre details from the inauguration, but focus on deeper analysis.

The whole event shows Trump and his tech bros coming together to make America even more unfair and scammy.

Montana has a constitutional right to privacy, including in our healthcare decisions. And today our constitution continues to protect individuals from government overreach.

On Aug. 12, 1958, Art Kane gathered 58 jazz notables in front of a Harlem brownstone for a group portrait.

Only one of its subjects is still alive: the saxophonist Sonny Rollins, 94, who spoke about the historic image.
