One of the hardest things for him to grasp: Yes, there are folks sharing my identities living in the places I wouldn't feel safe-- many of them quite happy! They had *support networks* and likely grew up learning the *invisible rules* for that locale. I didn't and face MUCH higher risk as a result.

Don't delegate the reading of your contracts to any one or anything. Read the whole fucking thing. If you have questions or don't understand something, this is what your agent or lawyer is for. And fucking YES get a lawyer, one that has some experience with contracts in the relevant field.
