Hello and happy #WebcomicDay to all who celebrate!!

My story is Deck, a screentoned manga-esque comic about a city poised to restart a failed revolution, and a kid caught up in the middle of it as she makes the city her home. It's rated PG/PG-13.

A young girl smiles as she holds up a hand of playing cards and stands before a plywood wall littered with defaced "WANTED" posters and signs for something called "The Rig Casino". A graffiti crown is painted on the wall above her head. The comic title, DECK, is written at the bottom. A bloodied man speaks, looking to the ground. "We used the ledger at the blockade. If we knew our shit got mixed up with you Rigs'--" "There was no ledger." An accusatory voice interjected. "...O-okay, yeah," the man continues, shaking as he looks up at his captor, who just placed a hand on his shoulder, "so maybe we WERE a little lucky, but, just--" He panics and takes a closer look at the room around him, one littered with bodies. "Listen, man, our guys didn't open the damn thing?" "Then who did?" His captor asks, his voice calm. "S-some asshole the newsstand sent over. A contractor. He saw your shipment a-and got PISSED. He let loose whatever was in it." He continues, snapping his head back to his captor with a pleading look. "We-we tried to get it back, but-- t-this contractor guy, he TURNED on us. Helped it escape." Acer punches a wall immediately behind Twin. Upon realizing he's still alive, Twin retorts, "whoa, dude. Temper. What if you had actually hit me?"

In NYC there are plenty of people who don't celebrate, and people who do, who dont have anywhere to go.
So as is our tradition, Anyone Comics in BK and Everyone Comics at Queensboro Plaza will be there to entertain from 12-5pm and handing out free books for those who feel left out!

Kattabolt chapter 1, page 45 transcript: Leigh and Nathan continue to duke it out with one another as Alex dashes past a still-stunned Ray. Chris reaches out after her. CHRIS: Alex, wait! ALEX: Alright- That’s enough! As she is running forward with a determined look on her face, there is a glimpse of some trees in the background, where the mysterious cloaked figure has apparently climbed to a good vantage point from which to see whatever is about to happen. Unaware of any additional audience, Alex’s shoes skid against the dirt, her hair appears to poof out, and her hand swings upward. The air around her seems to crackle. Kattabolt chapter 1, page 46 transcript: With a firm stance and her arms thrown out, Alex lets loose a bright crack of electricity in several directions. A bolt shoots between Nathan and Leigh, sending both of them flying back and to the ground. They’re stunned (literally and figuratively) for several seconds. Everyone but Ray is left staring at Alex in shock, with the exception of the mysterious stranger who is still hiding in the trees; there is a slight smirk on his face, his satisfaction clear.

We apologize for the delay in communication; however, given the sensitivity of the information we are about to transmit, we trust that you understand. The Rig is the city’s main source of income from the other side of our border. We maintain this responsibility with pride. When dealing with outsiders you may use their currency. When dealing with the local population, use chips. These chips have no value when traded outside the casino. Bear that in mind. As you may already be aware, the local population has a reputation of violence. Citizens of the city are loyal to whichever district they happen to fall under the jurisdiction of. Despite their limited resources, be aware that these district citizens and occasional independent factions from within are typically well-prepared to protect their own. Naturally, this results in frequent clashes between districts and factions alike. Exercise extreme caution when dealing with each of these, but be aware that negotiations are at times necessary and expected.

Reyn and Eirnin, the two leads of my webtoon Vitalism - Reyn has short, choppy platinum blonde hair and blue eyes, and black and white headband, black glasses and a grey and white uniform. Eirnin has layered shoulder-length silver and black hair and gold eyes and a white and black doorman uniform. he's holding a bloody knife. below them is the Vitalism logo. a fake bulletin board with a picture of Reyn and a chibi Eirnin and Reyn below, and a description of the comic: Recently diagnosed with a newly discovered genetic disease and given only months to live, Reyn Blackwood is fortunate enough to secure a spot at Esterhollow Sanatorium, where she's to be a clinical trial participant for a promising treatment. However, there's a catch for those like Reyn who can't afford the drug: they must mine for its main ingredient, in a location only safely entered by those with the genetic code needed to manifest the illness. On top of that, she finds that the drug has unforeseen, mind-altering side effects ... thus making it difficult to comprehend the peculiar, frightening stranger whom no one else seems to perceive, as well as decide whether or not he should be trusted over the sanatorium. a photo of all three books that have been printed. they are all available on etsy

There's so much more to come, and we're so proud of the entire book, but if I had to pick a 'for your consideration' set of 4 pages to convince you to read Weetrill, it'd be pages 29-32 🌲💛🫖
Page 29 - 1 - The leaf-walled elevator rises and comes to a halt with a squeeky ‘skreeeek’ onomatopoeia. Weetrill is now in a bright, cheery room walled by the leaves of the forest canopy. 2 - Weetrill looks down in surprise as The elevator gate opens all on its own with a ‘kink’ onomatopoeia. 3 - Weetrill is holding the locket tightly to his chest and looks around uncertainly Weetrill: …Magpie? 4- A massive reveal shot of Magpie’s home in the top boughs of her tree. The room is wreathed in leaves and branches on all sides, with sunlight beams dappling in. Weetrill strides away from the elevator. There is a massive pile of trinkets and treasures to his left, most of them shiny. There is a pink floral human-proportioned teacup to his right, sitting on its side so that small creatures can sit on its lip like a hooded seat. In front of Weetrill is a massive, vacant bird’s nest, with a small ladder leading up to its lip. In the background there is a human-proportioned book at least 4 times Weetrill’s size, flipped open with some magical text on its pages, held open with a magenta bookmark. To the side, there is a tunnel through the branches leading to an unseen room. Magpie’s voice calls out from that direction, out of sight. Magpie Witchbird: Takest thou thy seat, Weekin. I shall join thee anon. Page 30 - 1 - Tea is poured into a ‘mug’ which is actually a spiral seashell. A large white feathered bird wing holds the shell mug in place 2 - A small tray of nuts. berries, seeds, and apple slices. A black bird beak delicately places another nut on the tray 3 - Closeup of a large red birds eye. The plumage around the eye is black 4- Weetrill sits in a sideways teacup on top of a plump purple cushion. He is holding the locket in both hands and shouting to Magpie in the other room. He looks perturbed. Weetrill: Well I don’t see why you had to make such a fuss. Page 31 - 1 - Weetrill sits in his teacup-chair in the middle of magpie’s audience chamber, muttering half to himself. in the foreground, a large, horned avian shadow watches from the next room. Weetrill:Now everyone’s cross with me for skipping the line. 2 - a closeup on weetrill’s locket, his face reflected on its surface. Weetrill: It’s bad enough losing half a day’s forage, without having eleventy-nine squirrels chittering behind my back about it! 3 - Weetrill continues his rant, eyes closed in a huff. Weetrill: All because YOU had to make a spectacle of— 4- Weetrill is suddenly cut off by the arrival of a steaming shell-mug of tea, which pushes in from out of frame. Page 32 - 1 - Magpie Witchbird casts a dark shadow as she towers over the teacup seat with the tiny seashell mug pinched between her talons. She has twin branchlike antlers with a crystal hanging from the left antler. Her eyes are bright red. She wears a jeweled human ring as a circlet around her head. She has a massive gemstone on a chain around her neck. 2 - Weetrill’s sass evaporates as he peers up a the bird five times his size. He accepts the tea in both hands and stammers Weetrill: Well - I - yes. Thank you. H-hello, Magpie.

the end is a queer sci-fi drama/adventure where two aliens on a rescue mission crash a convention and accidentally take eight dorks on the ride of their lives!
Two women enter the front doors at a hotel hosting a convention. Jack and his twin sister Kait are waiting in the lobby, and the following conversation takes place: JACK: That's--! JACK: It REALLY is her! JACK: And she looks EXACTLY like she did in the pic and videos! KAIT: See? Nothing to worry about...for YOU at least. KAIT: But is SHE safe? What have you REALLY told her about you? KAIT: Does she know your DARK secrets? Has she seen the BABY PICTURES? I'm sure I have some in my wallet... Jack is visibly sweating and horrified in the last panel. Sam, Max and a couple of Hlurcht--cute aliens with slug/snail like heads and a variety of different manicured and shaped carapaces, are flying over Gorth Station at night on their way to The Races. Sam is excited, and Max is incredibly hungover and trying not to barf. SAM: Oh, MAN! SAM: We NEVER had anything like this back on Ith! SAM: Are you SEEING this Max? MAX: It's-- MAX: hhhhhfff MAX: g r e a t. Sam. In the first panel, a hover transport speeds off into the fungal wilds, Ith's colossal moon looms in the background. Kait, who is on the transport is saying "I guess we'll see..." There is a scene change. Sari is coming back into consciousness, laying on the floor in the ruins of the symposium. She rubs her eyes as footsteps approach. Xia spits out an accusatory "YOU." at her and she tries to sit up. Henri has accidentally made Kait cry while her, Kait and Lon are stuck processing mushrooms on Ith, and is frantically trying to cheer her up. HENRI: I... WAIT. HENRI: What if we... NO. HENRI: No, that's a shit idea. HENRI: But maybe it's not. HENRI: It COULD work, if... HENRI: I am the SMARTEST motherfucker EVER. HENRI: After our shift is over, you're going to find Lita. HENRI: She owes me a favour for letting her borrow Blaire's cards and make copies of them. Tell her I'm cashing in. KAIT: Henri, I...are you sure? HENRI: YOU'RE WELCOME, SHUT UP. HENRI: You're gonna have to explain what a picnic is to her, but get her to hook you up with dinner for two. HENRI: Clean yourself up, and head out to the big shaded rock by the pond. I'll make sure Noh agrees to meet you there.
