The Trump administration is moving to weaken the Endangered Species Act, possibly threatening protections for vulnerable wildlife and opening the door to habitat loss and extinction—even as broad bipartisan support for the ESA remains strong nationwide.

Trying to live sustainably and manage chronic illness at the same time is like living inside a slapstick comedy written by my nervous system.

Here’s what happened when I tried to buy a $80 nightstand off FB Marketplace. (🧵 1/8)

When the commenters who scoffed at LA’s recent rent control measures, framing it as government theft are either foreign bots or they simply don’t understand the fragile economics so many working communities face. Welcome to financialized housing and the human toll it takes.
It's hard to express what it meant to watch Maurice, Natalia, Celeste, and Rhea tell their stories—in their own voices—this morning.

The segment revealed a brutal reality: homelessness at this scale isn't about personal failure. It's the result of policy choices and systems built to exploit people.

It’s a rare day in LA when I get to whip out my vintage slicker purchased when I was a teenager at a thrift store in suburban Denver. Always makes me think of the “Penny Lane” lyric: “And the banker never wears a mac/ In the pouring rain/ Very strange.” I wonder if Penny Lane has EV chargers?

Check out these cool stills from “The Last Act,” now playing in Europe and Iran, directed by the wonderful Shahab Hosseini. We had such a wonderful time shooting this film in Vegas during the pandemic.

And yes, the feature is as intense as the images suggest!

With me is my pal James Wagner.

My good friend and fellow vegan Dr. Sy loves sharing all about her animal friends. Today she teaches us how to talk to a turkey. 🦃

And remember, animals are sentient beings, not food. Happy (non-turkey consuming) Thanksgiving!

Trump and far-right Republicans are unlawfully denying SNAP benefits to millions of children and veterans.

The American people have had enough.

And Democrats continue to fight back.

If you’re wondering whether what you have to say matters, it does. Look at this beautiful note I got from a friend of my parents about my latest essay on veganism. When we create a dialogue, miracles can happen.

I got some comments on my recent essay about veganism and the cost of meat replacements, so I thought I’d share this wonderful resource about affordable plant based recipes. No need to get premade substitutes!
Food costs are climbing, and support programs like SNAP and WIC face uncertainty.

Physicians Committee @dietitianxavier.bsky.social shares 40+ affordable, nourishing plant-based recipes built around staples like beans, lentils, tofu, rice, and oats.
