I am just gonna say it, these guys are completely emasculated by the knowledge that they have been out-organized by a group that is significantly made up of women, and all the bullshit call of duty nonsense is cope for their wounded egos bsky.app/profile/jeet...
MAGA military geniuses are talking about Minnesota protestors like they are the Iraqi insurgency, the Taliban, and the Viet Cong all rolled into one.

this is their go-to move, so it's not that surprising. they prefer swapping figureheads rather than operations. they'll see if this satisfies the large number of republican voters that polls (which trump reads) showed this weekend are now oppose ICE. and cross their fingers no other citizens die.

I think the message the administration will get is: “don’t shoot white men for several news cycles” and we have just the right sort of white folks around here to fall for that.

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

Exactly right.

Bovino's leaving? Great, get Noem to resign.

Noem resigns? Great, defund and dismantle ICE.

Go after Stephen Miller too. Bring charges against ICE thugs at the state and local level. Lawsuits. New state laws restricting them.

Every possible angle.
They are wounded and flailing. Press the advantage.

I say again, this does not even approach a scintilla of the accountability that is required. These are PR moves.

it's so sloppy it doesn't even have the right wrong information. the CURRENT governor of mississippi is tate reeves. she's thinking of the last governor, phil bryant, who is also not carolyn bryant's nephew.

Weird that hiring away a few checked-out Tory alcoholics from British dailies and emphasizing op eds about Why Your Boss Deserves A Tax Cut didn't deliver better results but what can you do? What, at the end of the day, can you do?

As Eli notes in the follow-up posts, last year Trump fired all the Biden appointees from the board of the US Holocaust Museum and replaced them with a bunch of Trump toadies. It's really gross that the org is throwing a fit like this. It's so obviously political.

This guy wrote an article called, “Where Woke Went Wrong,” in which he claims modern movements lack the respectability of the Civil Rights Movement, among other bad takes.

I’ll provide a couple highlights that show why he’s posting this.

I wonder if it has occurred to anyone at the Atlantic in this moment, that perhaps spending the past decade creating false equivalency between the avowed fascist movement on the right, and the college kids protesting fascists on college campuses was a mistake?

Graham Linehan proves the point that trans liberationists have been saying from the start:

If you'll permit dehumanising and stripping the rights of trans people, you will dehumanise and strip the rights of anyone on a long enough timeline.
This is exactly the same playbook Graham Linehan uses against trans people, where defending trans rights is cast as defending "rape" and "paedophilia." He uses "rape" and "paedophilia" as punchlines, and, therefore, all of his hate speech and advocation for violence against his enemies is justified.
