for all the lovely people whove been patiently waiting for this story to continue: its going to be a bit longer bc i decided this is going to be my first scribblehub story, so im properly writing the beginning rn, as well as revising the rest of part one in preparation for posting it there
a cis womans husband cheats on her with a trans woman, so she divorces him. their prenup was pretty strict on infidelity, too, so she absolutely cleans him out

months after the dust settles, she runs into the trans woman at the grocery store. the trans womans eyes burn with anger,

there is an employment crisis among trans women and there always has been, but good luck getting people to see it
Still living this life after almost 8 months. A professional I know who works almost exclusively with trans people said almost all of them are unemployed.

genuinely i cannot believe that i have to say this but you do not need to - and absolutely should not - expose yourself to CSAM material in order to “witness” the crimes of the elite.

this does nothing except make vicarious trauma, moral injury, and potentially places you in legal jeopardy.

STOP

One of the purest examples of a moral panic in our time. A clinic that had years-long waitlists and required an average of 7 appointments before providing transition care smeared and shut down for being reckless.

Just finished reading The Hades Calculus, and I think my main closing thought is: Hey, @benjanun.bsky.social, @devi.bsky.social, whaaaaaaaaat the hell?

(More seriously, the setting and characters are quite interesting, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing where The Persephone Effect goes)

A lot of my Discord use is on servers tagged as 18+, not because they're NSFW-focused, but because Discord tends to flag queer stuff as 18+, and talking about your life as a queer adult is gonna touch on that kinda stuff. I'm not going to give my ID to techno-fascists so I can keep my community
I keep seeing folks say they'll just accept a Teen Friendly account on Discord rather than scan or ID and I don't know if I wanna mass normalize leaving NSFW pals out in the cold yet again. Especially with all the censorship stuff goin on I think we gotta stand with the freaks now more than ever.

@shadell.itch.io once told me that I should read more queer theory before judging it and every time I have done so I have come away being like "this is driving me incoherently mad what the fuck is this" and then she goes "yep!" and I now realize I have been scammed

The intention of policies like this proposal is to introduce so much friction, so much pain, so much discomfort and humiliation, that a child desists rather than continue to assert their true identity.

It is nothing less than conversion therapy being written into school policy.
Anyone who had genuine concerns about youth gender medicine would staunchly and wholeheartedly support social transition. Let kids explore their identities to see what works for them!

The fact that this movement opposes even pronouns and haircuts shows that it's just bigotry all the way down.
This draft guidance reproduces Cass insisting that clinicians must be involved in decisions about *social transition* which actually should be none of their damn business

They take the line that this "non-directive" intervention should force things to be "keeping options open and flexible"...

When i say the Atlantic deserves neither your money nor your respect, i also mean their newsletters, their crosswords, and all their podcasts

the same issue launching their anti-trans hate as a cover article deprioritized ones about poor pandemic readiness and harms of anti-black discrimination
Helen Lewis is back in The Atlantic with "Youth Gender Medicine Is Indeed Up for Debate". It is a masterclass in manufacturing consent, framing the capitulation of medical bodies to political terror as a calm "return to reason."

Another thing. They went for trans kids because it's easier to target them than trans adults.

Trans kids you can threaten the parents with safeguarding and child abduction and force them to tolerate a lot of institutional abuse with limited outcry.
There's no outstanding scientific theory that would otherwise explain why puberty blockers are "harmful" for gender identity cases but not harmful for precocious puberty, beyond "we don't want the trans kids to be trans".

The Trump administration is going directly after LGBTQ healthcare providers and targeting them with threats of losing access to Medicaid/Medicare payments.

This is government by tweet, where every day, HHS targets more and more GAC providers with threats of investigation and withholding of funding.

A difficult things in covering trans science week after week is that the situation most resembles climate change propaganda from oil companies or obfuscation by tobacco companies in whether smoking causes cancer, but major science desks are invested in pretending it's a real scientific debate.
Much of the playbook used by the Hart Group to subvert NHS COVID policy was basically deployed by SEGM in an identical way, with the difference being that because only a tiny sub set of the population was negatively affected, journalism outlets who uncovered Hart turned a blind eye when alerted.

We (trans safety network) met with Cass during her research on the Cass review and explained how clearly ridiculous it would be to try and bring haircuts and self expression under the authority of being a "medical intervention".

She went away from that meeting and produced this crap anyway.

Notepad should not know what the internet is. If you have notepad talking to remote servers you're already like 10 steps into a "factors leading to" slide.

What the heck are they doing over there
The AI features added to Notepad created a critical exploit vulnerable to loading a compromised txt file.

The fix is part of Patch Tuesday, so update your systems.

AI is not a feature I ever desired in Notepad. I should look into some alternatives...
AI-upgraded Notepad now exposes Windows users to critical exploit

I spent most of my life carefully controlling how I acted, because I felt like I was always taking up too much space. I carried that into my transition, and learning how to just *let myself exist* is so hard. The people who can revel in being themselves don't need us attacking them for it
unfollowing people who do too many "haha blahaj transbian" jokes. we get it they're cringe. why are you so obsessed with this. maybe unpack that. they are literally just young women having fun with their friends, there are bigger problems to worry about and people more worthy of your disdain.

you could simply leave the “Jewish” part out of this

it is a choice and it is a bad one and I would really, truly prefer that people ostensibly on my side of the political spectrum not make it
I have to say, I do not love this new trend of large liberal accounts with millions of followers identifying Jews.
