Nothing sums up elite morality more than this. Do not judge us by how shitty we are as people but by how much money we make.
Ah yes let us not judge her based on the words that come out of her own mouth but rather whether or not she created shareholder value

I wasn’t prepared to realize it, but I accept that more people than not are followers and don’t even try to have an original perspective/thought about most things.

It's good Kimmel is coming back to ABC.

I won't be coming back to Hulu, nor Disney+.

And I recommend you don't, either. Not right away at least.

But also apparently a feature of my personality/ analytical frame

I can absolutely and aim to understand you and look for your POV

So human beings are all more closely related to each other than at any time in history. This *should* put an end (again) to the bullshit "racial purity" narratives, but it probably won't. Some people just want to be bigots.

I’m so glad I don’t watch NFL. Seems like a yearly 25 week humiliation ritual for POC.

Hearing the sport that blackballed a man for kneeling in honor of the Black people brutalized & ostracized in USA is having moments of silence for the guy who thought that brutality & ostracism was Super Neat.

There will absolutely be people who try to leverage trauma survivors' empathy, emotional intelligence, & habit of assuming everything is our fault & responsibility to try to outsource their emotional labor to us.

Stay sharp. The first step is just noticing when it's happening.

I need y'all to get it out of your heads that Indigenous societies were primitive and simplistic.

That's colonial thinking, perpetuated to justify the creation of the colonial state in order to "uplift" and "educate" Indigenous folks

It's pure BS

The most fundamental divide between science & 'denialism', à la Karl Popper:

Science has a firm commitment to testing hypotheses by observation. It exposes 'pet theories' to the RISK of DIS-CONFIRMATION.

'Denialism' seeks to CONFIRM hypotheses by any means, even deception & half-truth.

Like you, I've wondered about this for decades. (It was main point of 1996 book 'Breaking the News.') Among other probs, most "normal" people are not political junkies and find win/loss coverage to be like betting odds on a sport they don't care about.

I think it's a "scorpion and frog" situation.
