Flagging this for any RPG layout people who want to see what 15th century table layout looked like.
The Manuscript of the Week is RIA MS 23 P 10 (ii), the Book of O’Lees. It is named after the hereditary medical family who would have valued the diagnostic tables contained within. It is also known as the Book of Hy-Brasil due to a 17th century a member of the family telling a ‘wild story’...

Turns out ER is incredibly good television. Who knew?

I loved this book. The episodic romps of early 00s anime meet the vaporwave-fueled world of the console wars in this wonderful celebration of video games, Toonami, and being true to yourself. Lan and Joe have always been a killer team but this book gives them the platform they’ve always deserved.

Caught up on The Pitt and, god help me, I’m tempted by the idea of watching ER for the first time.

There's a healthy number of talented writers working on various Flash Gordon projects right now, and as the legacy media one let me remind you all of the principle truth of this property: before ray guns, monsters, or even outer space, FLASH GORDON is a comic about motor vehicle crashes.

Long be the days of reading paragraph after paragraph of the Redwall characters describe the banquet they’re have including the type of summer wine or winter ale they’ve been enjoying with their cheese and meats. I’d hate to write it personally but, Christ, if I don’t love to read it when done well!
need fantasy to go back to lush long winded prose about the environment around the happenings. luke warm take but some of my favorite books—the redwall series—did so much with location and even just waxing about food. i miss it. not for everyone but it’s fun and interesting 2 me. love your world!!!

This news saddens me greatly. Music Cafe (formerly Dwarf Jar) was one of my favorite spots for people watching and writing. I wrote my first short comics in that cafe, met collaborators to brainstorm in that cafe, and even conceived of When the Blood has Dried in that cafe. I’ll miss it terribly.

If you're wondering who the heck I am to be writing Scott Summers, I agree with you. They saw it differently and I'm boundlessly grateful.

"Page budgets" is a concept I dig into quite a bit when I teach, and it's exactly that.

It goes for all artists - for example, the first YA cover here is about 4-5 times as much work for Colourist Matt Wilson as he has to do palettes foe each sliver. The second cover was the month after.

It is the funniest thing in the world for me to imagine people getting mad at Kieron Gillen for saying a sassy thing about comic writers in a presentation where a room full of aspiring comic writers are being taught to write comics by a very famous comic writer.
The slide, for those who don't know it. The OTT punchline at the end of my section in my teaching comic writing slide where I'm saying that the writer is the god-creator of all comics who all must hail, before I move onto what one should do to be a good collaborator.
