A new Castlevania is always a treat but when is some enterprising comics publisher going to pick up the licence because…I have thoughts…👀

There's a healthy number of talented writers working on various Flash Gordon projects right now, and as the legacy media one let me remind you all of the principle truth of this property: before ray guns, monsters, or even outer space, FLASH GORDON is a comic about motor vehicle crashes.

Long be the days of reading paragraph after paragraph of the Redwall characters describe the banquet they’re have including the type of summer wine or winter ale they’ve been enjoying with their cheese and meats. I’d hate to write it personally but, Christ, if I don’t love to read it when done well!
need fantasy to go back to lush long winded prose about the environment around the happenings. luke warm take but some of my favorite books—the redwall series—did so much with location and even just waxing about food. i miss it. not for everyone but it’s fun and interesting 2 me. love your world!!!

This news saddens me greatly. Music Cafe (formerly Dwarf Jar) was one of my favorite spots for people watching and writing. I wrote my first short comics in that cafe, met collaborators to brainstorm in that cafe, and even conceived of When the Blood has Dried in that cafe. I’ll miss it terribly.

This book simply wouldn't exist without the trust, encouragement and guidance of three people: Darren Shan, @jedmackay.bsky.social, and @tombrevoort.bsky.social.
If you're wondering who the heck I am to be writing Scott Summers, I agree with you. They saw it differently and I'm boundlessly grateful.

"Page budgets" is a concept I dig into quite a bit when I teach, and it's exactly that.

It goes for all artists - for example, the first YA cover here is about 4-5 times as much work for Colourist Matt Wilson as he has to do palettes foe each sliver. The second cover was the month after.
