🤦‍♂️...also, King County usually has high turn out and there were way more dropbox ballots *because the voter's guide said USPS is unreliable*.
So the initial turnout numbers were falsely low.

There's no fraud here.

OK I've watched Mayor Bruce Harrell's concession speech (I'm out of town and had to go eat at a Michelin-starred BBQ place and have some ube and milk tea soft serve first) and he really did say some weird shit about "anomalies" with the election, huh? really setting Mayor-elect Wilson up for success

Local city restricts what flags can be flown outside of city hall.

"McDaniel said none of those flags previously flown at City Hall were inclusive of him and his identity."

The point is not that everyone identifies personally with each flag.

if I HAD been in town today I probably would have asked outgoing Mayor Harrell why his budget for next year sets up a huge fiscal cliff for incoming ,ayor Wilson, using one-time funding for long-term needs and assuming nine-figure deficits starting in next year's budget cycle

You do not have to hand it to the Catholic bishops. In the same meeting, they banned gender affirming care at all Catholic hospitals nationwide.

But he won't disclose his records & his finance staff keep quitting? 🤨

Yes, these results are a move in the right direction, at the same time: "one area where Wilson had more in common with Harrell was in handling the Seattle Police Department (SPD)...
Confirmed: Katie Wilson will be mayor of Seattle, ousting the incumbent from his left.

And Erika Evans will be the new city attorney, ousting the GOP city attorney after promising to take the office in a more progressive direction.

What do progressives' win mean for law enforcement? NEW IN BOLTS:
Progressives Win in Seattle, Changing Directions on Public Safety - Bolts
Voters ousted a mayor who oversaw a surge in encampment sweeps, and a Republican prosecutor who pursued punitive policies toward homeless people and drug users.

It's not completely untrue because Kroger did a thing with their prices.

IDK if they were legit high because of bird flu but they did a similar thing early in Covid & Ferguson (as AG) sued them.

You don't have to send $ to the Dems.

Give the $ to someone who needs it / an org that will use it to support someone who needs it.
Any Democratic senator not calling for a change in leadership NOW is complicit in the selling out of America. I will not send another dollar while Schumer remains

Sean Duffy: "I can't guarantee safety"
November 11, 2025 at 10:39 PM
This seems uncomfortably similar to "nursing is a calling".

As well as "heroes work here".

Language like this is used as a replacement for fair wages, safe staffing, honoring labor laws, safety protocols...
1. I didn't realize that "patriotism" was a prerequisite for the job of air traffic controller.

2. If "patriotism" means continuing to support a gov't that continually sh*ts on you, maybe it's not a good thing.

Hey. Psst. To everybody who is deeply troubled right now because you've come to the conclusion that all your work has been futile:

Yes. Practicing futility is morally distressing.

My best piece of advice is to focus on the small things that you can change.

On Here is a very weird place.

Y'all are talking about faxing Congress.

How much experience do y'all have with sending faxes?

A fax machine operates via a landline. Only one fax can go through at a time.

They are starting to do transit police / fare checks on the buses here, not just the trains.

The way it works you either show your one time ticket or they scan your card to see if you've paid.

If you haven't you have to load $20 to a card.

Bus fare is approx $3.
I think about how I hated how the San Francisco BART charged per station distance so much that I spent years preferring to CONSTANTLY talk my way out of fare hopping tickets

then its like...if you need to post cops in stations to catch fare hoppers THAT often, maybe your system does suck that much

Context: WA DOH requires all of us to take DEI CEUs for license renewal beginning next year.
There is a need for courses because federal ones are now offline.
And there is pushback from some who don't understand why we need the requirement in the first place.
1. After reporting on Washington State University's approval of continuing medical education credits for anti-trans SPLC-designated hate group SEGM, WSU has suspended the courses.

Now, hundreds of emails and dozens of orgs say they need to make it permanent.

The county executive candidate whose goal was to run this place like the wealthiest major city lost.

So that's good.
Flock camera mayor is winning.

Water/sewer pro (for city council) is losing.

DOH epi (for city council) is losing.

DSA city council guy is losing.
