Parasite Eve is interesting in that it is clearly marketed as a horror game but is also an RPG which is a famously non-scary genre of video game. It's not scary, like, at all.

The Truman Show is great for a number of reasons, but the way I've always tended to read the film is as a critique of theism. The idea that an all-powerful god who watches and judges everything you do and has a very specific plan for your life might feel really invasive and creepy, actually.

It's funny that people latch onto Joker's "agent of chaos" monologue from The Dark Knight as gospel of his philosophy, because like... he's lying. He's manipulating Harvey into stooping to his level. "Do I look like a guy with a plan?" Yes. The rest of the film shows us that you ALWAYS have a plan.

The most succinct way I've heard someone describe Akira Toriyama's legacy is, "Imagine being the guy who designed the Slime from Dragon Quest and that isn't even the thing you're most famous for."

I get that the new font is better for readability, but I miss when video games weren't afraid to use fonts more stylized than "default Crunchyroll subtitles." (Or in this case, Times New Roman, a.k.a. "default Microsoft Word font.")

I’ve said it before but it still baffles me how EarthBound is a genuinely great RPG that somehow managed to get a fanbase made entirely of people who can’t recognize a good RPG aside from EarthBound.

I am going to be real, I believe that boycotting and cancelling booked vacation days at the Disney Parks would caused more significant damage to the brand and reputation of The Walt Disney Company than simply cancelling a streaming service subscription that people can easily come back to.

Been increasingly considering moving out of the country, but I don't have the means, money, or connections to make this process plausible.

I hate that YouTube videos don't "end" anymore. They just stop. Mid-topic they'll be like, "Anyway that's it bye."
All because "the analytics say everyone clicks off at the outro, and that's bad for some reason." Like, yeah, dude, that's what outros are for. To let people know the video is over.
