I get it but I'm still curious about a bunch of people who aren't on here on on the discord servers I'm apart of.

I was going to reactivate my FB for a while to catch up with everyone but it looks like for some reason it was disabled. Well this sucks.

Just FYI, Tom argued for universal welfare, abolition, public education, state-sponsored pre/post-natal care, family subsidies, & retirement for workers at 50 w/state pensions that would double at 60.

He also considered the American revolution a failure, co-opted by self-serving, landowning elites.

Yes. If DHS can barge in, say your visa was revoked, be told you have a green card, say it's revoked too, and then disappear you so that neither your lawyer nor your family can find you, then all the guardrails are gone. There is no policy, practice, or law protecting anyone.
re the previous repost: if they can disappear permanent residents they can disappear citizens

the leap from disappearing the undocumented to disappearing visa holders to disappearing green card holders to disappearing naturalized citizens to disappearing natural born citizens is no leap at all, but a series of tiny steps

block the path

like the AP ban and the law firm threats, this is a pressure test designed to provoke compliance and establish targets for further bullying (and yeah, this happens to be one the Democrats will fail spectacularly)
My fear is that the Trump administration arrested Mahmoud Khalil to make an example out of him because they’re gambling Dems won’t put their jobs and lives on the line to protect a Palestinian.

This story is horrifying and disgusting. A WhatsApp group with a sustained desire to make pro- Palestinian protesters suffer in unimaginable ways.

The ADL has come out in support of the arrest and detention of Mahmoud Khalil and the ACLU has condemned it.

it does bum me out how many establishment Dems are willing to move to the right by throwing whole sections of the population to the wolves but not by at all altering their stance on gun control

“in apparent effort to force hand of Hamas” is not a good substitute for “in clear crime against humanity”.

This would mean the shutting down of Gaza’s only two remaining functioning desalination plants.

You know, to drink water.

FREE MAHMOUD KHALIL!!!!!
UPDATE—Mahmoud's attorney says they do NOT know where he is.
They were first told he was sent to an ICE facility in Elizabeth, NJ. But when his 8-month-pregnant wife tried to visit him, she was told he's not there.
They've received reports he may be sent as far away as Louisiana.

This is re-segergation

Moreover, ICE must be destroyed
Always have to read the entire text of these things because they always bury something much broader in the middle. Apparently any sufficiently large or prominent law firm that is arbitrarily too diverse is going to get investigated.

I truly cannot think of a more perfect showcase of how the Democratic Party as a whole has addressed trans issues. Lashing out and disregarding an actual real politically engaged constituent in order to court some fictional voter who likes all of the bigotry of Republicans but will instead vote Dem
In a leaked recording, State Senator Elena Parent (D-42) said she’d vote for Republican transgender healthcare bans because trans rights are too “unpopular."

"You can go right to heck. I don’t think I will lose re-election based on you screaming at me"

Again, Jews were less than 1% of the German population in 1933.
Even one of the takes expressing revulsion at the treatment of trans people also says that the administration's policies aren't consequential because they affect a small population. Would anyone say the same about the explicit persecution of an ethnic or religious minority? This is extraordinary.
