A gentle reminder that pets do not make good surprise gifts for Christmas. If it’s something that’s been in the works for a while, sure, but they are not to be given without a full understanding of the commitment they can be.

This reminds me of a family member who has dealt with extreme abuse, but votes and aligns with systems that encourage abuse. People aren’t trained to see things systemically. Their understanding can begin and end with “this person wronged me” and not challenge the patriarchy, racism, + child-hatred.
Watching the Epstein survivor admit that she voted for Trump really fucked with my head. The brainwashing against the left that apparently people endure from birth, must be way deeper than I ever imagined. A victim voting for a rapist, who has also been accused by 26 other women? Over a woman? WTAF?
