Walking on campus, I was just thinking how hard it is to be a grad student. It was by far the hardest thing I have done professionally, and there were many days (and nights!) when I was certain I would never come up with a job market paper (or, any paper, really). Grad students, hang in there!🤗

The tragic landslide in Blatten gives me the excuse to tell you the story of how we found out Ice Ages existed. It's a cool story and the most important bit is rather similar to what's happening now.
