Young people today have never queued up outside a phone booth to call their dealers to ask if they can do a quarter ounce of hash on tick and it shows.
Bugonia was SOOOO GOOOOD!! Jesse Plemons and Emma Stone play off each other so well. It’s nasty and funny and endlessly interesting. And her pool furniture was in the same font as the titles. (That won’t make sense until you see it)

This sketch podcast, like Greta Thunberg, is very good and shorter than you’d expect.
You like chuckling don’t you? Well the first instalment of my new sketch comedy podcast with Kathryn Haywood is now available wherever you get your podcasts. 17 minutes of fun and there’ll be another one next week whether you like it or not. But you will like it. podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/t...

Next, they’re going to make all the newspapers look like they’ve been made by an overstretched art department, with centred headlines in the wrong font, legislate that everyday is one word even when it means every day, and send ICE agents round to turn everyone’s motion smoothing back on.

I despise generative AI, I don’t value art that bypasses humanity. I’m drawing the line right here (although I would still watch a remake of Thelma and Louise starring Estelle Reiner and Catherine Scorsese 😬).

Can’t believe I’ve only just gotten round to this! Poetic, compassionate and unbearably cruel. The Last Temptation of Christ folded into 1984.

In huge positive news, the Australian government just ruled out handing the work of their country’s creatives to AI companies for free 🙌

They resisted the well-funded tech lobby & shut down proposals to upend copyright law.

Other governments should do the same!

Saw Black Phone 2. Was it bad? No. Was it good? Also no. I hate being mean about movies, they’re SO hard to make and I hope other people will enjoy and support and watch it in the cinema. The perfect moment to use the bathroom is when the snow plough shows up at the camp. You’ll have plenty of time.

How in gods name had I never seen Fright Night?!? Such charming practical effects, all oozy backward-melting wax flesh and bitey fangs! Plus Devo and Sparks in the soundtrack and EVERY MOVIE is made better by casting Roddy McDowall.

Haven’t heard a lot of buzz around Strange Darling which is a shame. I would have loved to see it at the cinema, especially going in blind!
