"This is the third winter since the Israeli genocide began in October 2023. Thousands of families have not entered a home in more than 800 days. They have touched no wall that protects them, no window that shuts in warmth, no bed that shields them from the cold."

Gaza winter catastrophe repeating in tents that resist neither wind nor rain
The seasons change, but for those fighting for survival through wet winters and baking summers in Gaza's tents, the suffering remains.

As this year's birthday draws to a close, the first since my separation, I find myself reminiscing about that old tradition of the birthday blow job.

Oh well, enough of that. What's good on Netflix?

Sussan Ley has an interesting Wikipedia page. Super impressive background that might have made her a feminist hero. Instead she has abandoned any authenticity and become a failed experimental female leader in a deeply misogynist party. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sussan_...

How many unprecedented weather events and 'natural' disasters do we have to endure before people realise that the cost of electricity is the least of our problems?

Amazon announced 14,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $40M last year.

UPS announced 48,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $24M last year.

Intel announced 20,000 layoffs. Its new CEO's pay package is valued at nearly $69M.

This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

Yikes 😬 an official U.S. government account just referred to Americans as “imbecilic morons.” That’s… a choice.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

Given that our government will not do anything, how do we Aussies make our condemnation of US human rights abuses known?

If it was done in Russia or China, the government would condemn them.

The "ally" relationship with the US must be close to breaking point, we don't share Trumpian values.
Bovino: "Whether they were criminals or individuals that were taking jobs from Americans -- you name it, that's what they were doing. And I'll tell you what's gonna happen. We're gonna go even harder on the streets. If he releases those 650, we're gonna apprehend 1,650 on the streets of Chicago."
