Just wanna expand this a bit because so many hashtag resisters respond to any pushback on language (ableist, homophobic, racist, etc.) with hostility disguised as tactical savvy: "MAGA uses these words but you want us to fight with our hands tied?"

I'm sorry, but "they took over the whole federal payments system, fired the career staff, and won't let anybody see what they're doing" is not a situation in which you wait for more information. It's a situation in which you assume the worst. There's no explanation for it other than rampant crimes.

Hey if anyone has put off calling their elected officials because (like me) talking to humans on the phone makes you nervous, just know that right now both of my senators’ offices are sending calls to voicemail because of unusually high call volume. I’ve spent the last couple hours racing my toddler to see if I can clear the living room floor enough to vacuum before he takes out all the toys I just cleaned up. Unfortunately he has way more energy than I do so now it looks like he’s winning
