I think we should normalize telling our friends that we love them more.
there are many different kinds of love other than romantic.

it also feels nice to say it and to hear it ❤️

if u don't know SWITCHED-ON BACH is insane because the Moog synth is monophonic. meaning every single note of every single chord in every song had to be overdubbed separately. she had to be extremely precise & meticulous to make that album work

i feel like i'm the only one that's not connecting with rosalia's LUX. It's not that I didn't like it, but it's being treated as this mind-blowing life-changing experience and I'm just not hearing/feeling that at all.

15 days later and I still can't believe I lost my dad so quick and suddenly, i'm just stunned. I miss my daddy so much beyond words can ever explain.

I lost my daddy to a sudden and shocking heart attack yesterday. I'm shattered. He was my best friend in the whole world.

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

there is a reason why I cannot pay myself to publish books even though we have an audience that wants them and it is because the margins are miniscule

You know what else should be more expensive? Books!
AAA video games should cost $100 on launch. this would still be extremely cheap for the amount of time and enjoyment you get out of them! But an audience of whiny babies has kept them literally at the same price for *two decades* despite both general inflation *and* sector-specific costs rising

look i’m just gonna say it, the nytmag article about women taking testosterone activated everyone’s latent misogyny. you all need to shut the fuck up and stop scolding women for wanting their sex drive back or because they fuck men and you’re assuming their husbands are losers

Anyway this is my appeal, once again, that if you ever have an interesting take or critique of a trans book you read, WRITE IT DOWN. Make a free blog and publish it!

It's a desert out here, and the only way to become a critic is to just start doing it. Start now. Start yesterday.
Aside from the obvious factor of our (uneven) material oppression, hostility to criticism remains the biggest stumbling block to the development of a real trans creative and intellectual scene. Until we develop a robust critical apparatus, it seems like we'll just keep playing pretend.

"Transsexuality is bourgeois" reflects the common belief that medicine, technology, and any improvements to quality of life are owed to capitalism. The reality is that capitalism holds these improvements hostage for the sake of wealth.

Sex scenes are almost never "gratuitous" or "unnecessary." You learn things about characters and relationships during sex that you can't really learn any other way, such as whether they're into fisting.
