Hurricane Imelda passed over the island of Bermuda overnight before racing northeastward.

The storm is now a strong post-tropical cyclone.

Following their dance together near the United States' East Coast, the last few days saw Hurricane Imelda absorb the remnants of Hurricane Humberto after its dissipation.

I know we always laud the SPC on big ticket days. But a day like yesterday should not go unnoticed. A somewhat sneaky tornado risk and damaging wind risk in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio, and their forecasts were stellar.

FAIRBANKS: want a doodled coffee cup?
I'm at Alaska Comicon this weekend. My travel time was more than 16 hours and I'm gonna be jetlagged as fuck, so please bring me a small black coffee. I will draw an owl on the empty cup for you.

Check https://effinbirds.com/appearances for show details.

For my home state followers, here's a close-up of the North Carolina snowpack.

The now snow-free Arkansas River Valley is clearly visible in this image, where downsloping resulted in both lower precipitation amounts and warmer temperatures, ultimately yielding less snow and faster snow melt.
What a beautiful image of Colorado. Amazing how the snow helps to reveal so much topographic and land-cover complexity and nuance:
