1/4 I'm running for office again, y'all! This time, for the Pierce County Charter Review Commission, District 4, Seat two (yup, it is a loooooong title). I don't even have a website or logo yet, but I've raised a couple grand and I've earned some stellar endorsements. Read on for details!
Bill Hanawalt and I have an Op-Ed out in the Tacoma News Tribune. It repeats TNT's call two years ago for the city to use good data when modifying the Landlord Fairness Code. The LFC study group is requesting the City of Tacoma Government not act until a listening session process completes.
Don’t change the Landlord Fairness Code. Finish studying its outcome | Opinion
It’s now two years later and time to take stock before another contentious vote — this time entirely by City Council. | Opinion

I just learned the Seattle symphony is performing the music of Blade Runner the day after my birthday. Part of me says "take my money." Another part of me says "wasn't that just one dude on a Jupiter?"

They're back at it...
“In some cases, the government appeared to rely on unverified tabloid reports about Khalil. In others, its claims were factually incorrect because of inconsistent timelines and mischaracterizations of his work history.”
BREAKING: Judge orders Columbia activist Mahmoud Khalil to be deported to Algeria or Syria, alleging he omitted information from his green card application.

My friend and comrade @zevfortacoma.bsky.social leading chants at a UFCW local 367 informational picket supporting Marlene's workers fighting for a fair contract. If you shop there, you should probably tell Marlene's you support their workers.

Robert Redford was the GOAT. One of the only actors with greatness throughout his career. One of the only directors to consistently take up politically controversial content. One of the only Hollywood liberals with anything close to a real spine. He let the world change him and he changed the world.

Israel has launched a ground invasion of Gaza City. The atrocities will only intensify from here. This is a Genocide.

1) What's most disturbing about this week's events are not any of the single actions or reactions on their own, but the flagrantly obvious contradictions they reveal about what constitutes free speech and what constitutes political violence.

The most disturbing thing about the botched 2019 SEAL raid is in the buried lead. It precipitated a massive new wave of North Korean missile testing, just after peace talks.

We be out here! Doing the thangs!
It's been a great week for the campaign! Last night, Tacoma DSA members voted unanimously to give $750 to my race and eight members signed up to volunteer. And these four wonderful folks joined me for door knocking in Hilltop this evening. You should get involved, too!

ICE and CPB agents arresting firefighters during an active fire is the best/worst evidence I've seen for why lumping police and fire together under the banner of "public safety" is a total fraud that needs to stop. Firefighters fight fires. Police stop and/or start crime. Not the same.
