Sure there is stress in life, but nothing is more stressful than watching an attempt to pull off The Full Puff, when there’s only enough time for the rough puff.

more TB4 / TB5 rdma shenanigans. The kext isn't signed, never gets to the kext cache, or has been omitted. All the extracted rdma .dylibs point to this kext. Has anyone got the output from "kextstat | grep -I rdma" on a box with TB5 that could help me show it's loaded? That would be aces!

Down, down deeper and down.

Coffin meet nail. Ohai nail! ‘ello coffin, what’s occurin’? Not much. Same ol’ same ol’ really.

Say, weren’t you a big deal back in the summer? Yeah. But that didn’t last, bit like my 18A fab, which is now pretty much not fab.

Not at all.

Ever since we arrived in the USA, we’ve been huge supporters of the Bostoo Yook Yarters.

Our good friend @phylogenomics.bsky.social said that the Bostoo Yook Yarters were the team to support if you like the beep ball bloot.

to save any of y'all trying the new @jeffgeerling.com super rdma jaccl magic and you only have the thunderbolt 4?

don't bother, you need thunderbolt 5.

however you can still use ring mode though, which as you can see isn't so shabby at 37.9 Gbit/s of old fashioned TCP over thunderbolt 4!

Rather than contemptuous ridicule, events like these should be given awards. At a legit ceremony, with celebrities handing out little gold painted trophies and stuff.

Remote, unauthenticated and hooked into all the OBM and mngt switches?

All,

Please take this as the absolute final word on the subject. No further discussion required.

⚠️ There is well written, sensible actual science in this article!

Fascinating piece about the manifold problems with data centers in space: taranis.ie/datacenters-...

It's not just the heat problems, but it doesn't appear to make sense on any dimension… complexity, size, reliability, cost, anything.
Datacenters in space are a terrible, horrible, no good idea.
There is a rush for AI companies to team up with space launch/satellite companies to build datacenters in space. TL;DR: It's not going to work.
