Compost your Christmas trees with Boston Public Works! We collect Christmas trees curbside on your normal trash day from December 29 to January 9.

Compost your Christmas tree! Boston Public Works will collect Christmas trees for composting from December 29 - January 9. Just leave your tree curbside on your normal trash day. No lights, ornaments, or plastic bags, please. If you have two recycling pickup days, your tree will be collected on the first day. Trees left curbside after January 9 will be collected as regular trash.

Christmas Week Trash & Recycling Pickup Schedule There will be NO waste collection on Christmas Day. Neighborhoods with two collection days that are normally serviced BOTH Mondays and Thursdays will have only their Monday 12/22 trash day this week. Thursday 12/25 collection will be CANCELED. Both rates are lower than current and upcoming Eversource rates and use renewable energy.
