‼️Critical message in this moment: The Trump admin isn't deporting farmworkers to give their jobs to citizens. They want black and brown immigrants to do this work, they just don't want them to live in the U.S. or have U.S. labor protections:

“Even if people aren’t (immediately) deportable, they are subjecting them to such harsh conditions that they’re hoping that they will just choose to leave,” said Jessica Maxwell, executive director of the Workers' Center of Central New York. “It’s a tactic."
According to Albany-based immigration lawyer Matthew Geiling and New York Immigration Coalition Legal Director Rosanna Eugenio, the overlap in law enforcement agencies involved in immigration now often makes it difficult to even determine who has custody of a person.

The government gave immigration enforcement a $170 BILLION budget increase so they could do exactly what we're seeing in Chicago: drop from helicopters to drag children out of their beds and zip tie them, tear gas crowds, shoot people (two so far), and detain an alderperson for asking questions.
Even in a government shutdown, the 13th largest army in the world wages war in Chicago. ICE’s militarized raids & abductions are terrorizing communities—while billions are poured into their hands.

The Israeli army just announced that it won’t allow Palestinians in central and southern Gaza to travel north to Gaza City, saying that anyone who remains will be considered “terrorists.” An estimated 500,000 Palestinians remain in Gaza City, who are now officially cut off from any provisions.
