ICE plans to hire bounty hunters to track down immigrants. ICE plans to give out bundles of files on at least 10,000 people at a time to private contractors, who will use phone location data, social media info, & photos to go outside the law and grab people for $$$

The DoL sets the Adverse Effect Wage Rate for H2A workers every year to be above min. wage so that local workers paid min. wage aren't displaced. Today it's $19.94 in CA. Trump will cut it to $13.90. ⬇️

H-2A employers legally must post their jobs in the US before offering them abroad. Foreign workers here legally to work are being detained, now there's nobody to work the fields. If US doesn't want the job & won't let H-2A do it, it won't get done. "The fear is here"

10/2: Trump proposes to cut wages for all farm workers by up to $7/hour AND charge them rent for gov't provided housing. @ufw.bsky.social says it's “a catastrophe for American workers... When guest worker wages are lowered, it is American jobs that are lost" to cheaper foreign workers, hurts us all.

Late last week, we shared the news that Immokalee-area farmworker Marco Antonio Hernández Guevara had been hospitalized after collapsing from heat stroke in Florida’s fields.

Today, with heavy hearts, we share the news that Mr. Guevara passed away over the weekend.
