amazon apparently assuming i would not scroll through their barely-functional website to individually download 150+ ebooks: lol. lmao. two things i love are spite and procrastination and this is both
hey for anyone who might want to actually own their kindle books instead of renting them, or who might be thinking of switching to kobo etc and will want to convert them to epubs, you now only have one week before amazon kills your ability to download its ebooks www.theverge.com/news/612898/...
Amazon’s killing a feature that let you download and backup Kindle books
It’s bad if you like to keep ebook backup copies.

It may seem trivial to stop using product, a browser, a platform for ethical reasons. How could a single defection make any difference to these behemoths? But think about every conversation where these products are discussed as a norm. Each one is another opportunity to confirm your values.

This is a sewing pattern. It is also a page from a late 14th century manuscript that is one of two primary sources for an important Icelandic saga (Sturlunga saga), but that was probably not important to the 17th century person who really needed a sewing pattern.

Mutual aid builds trust.

Trust builds relationships.

Relationships build organizing.

Organizing builds power.

Power is how we ultimately win.

Feeling nostalgic for the good ole days of the Reply All podcast. They have a segment where they explain the references for a viral tweet, and there’s something about this excavation of internet culture that I find so fun. It’s silly and there are so many layers — anyway, here’s an example!
