The Silicon Valley fascists genuinely think that technology (i.e., cool robots and spaceships) has nothing to do with science (i.e., girls filling out spreadsheets wokely). I am not being sarcastic. I know that sounds insane. But that's really what they think.
The top priority for Trump 2.0 is to punish the libs and science is lib-coded despite “STEM” being centrist to conservative coded because the pro-STEM rhetoric is really just anti-humanities rhetoric, they don’t actually support science and half of them think the Earth is 6,000 years-old.
1. This work was a top priority for Trump 1.0
2. It is directly synergistic with defense dept space propulsion goals
3. It's a key enabler of the deep space human exploration Trump 2.0 says they want to prioritize

The right-wing has now just switched to calling anything they want to suppress "porn." It's all so transparent and dumb.

And they'll keep doing it, keep going after books, purging libraries, banning websites so long as elected officials continue to buckle.
Wake school board approves Freedom to Read grants. Critics say they promote porn.
The grants promoting Banned Books Week events comes as state lawmakers want to make it easier to remove books from school libraries.

This is what an authoritarian regime would do. Hidden deep in Trump’s 1,100-page bill that passed the House today is a provision that would block federal courts from enforcing contempt charges against government officials who violate court orders.

They blame pollution but cut the EPA and clean air and water regulations. They blame poor nutrition but cut SNAP and programs to bring local produce to schools. They blame increased screen time while destroying public infrastructure that connects people. All while they take millions off healthcare.
The White House blamed exposure to environmental toxins, poor nutrition and increased screen time for a decline in Americans’ life expectancy Thursday.

Yup, one of the terminated NSF awards was #2140743, which allows Harvard to draw funding for its NSF graduate research fellows (GRFP), all current and new.

Confirmed here: www.nsf.gov/updates-on-p...

Just cruel.
All NSF GRFPs to students choosing to attend Harvard in the Fall were just terminated

The vote was 215-214 with the 3 notable missing votes because Dems died in office.

If you are one of those people scolding those of us who say it's time for old ass reps to retire, know you're part of the reason all these Americans got fucked.
House Republicans just passed a bill that will kick 14 million people off their health care, take away free school meals for 18 million kids, and raise our deficit.

Now it goes to the Senate but we need to keep fighting.

HOLY SHIT. The ban on any federal funding gender-affirming care includes stripping ACA plans of covering it as the essential care it is.

I have an ACA plan. I live in a blue state, but I am about to lose access to treatments I need.

We told you this was coming

Not satisfied with merely slashing Medicaid

Republicans now want to demolish MEDICARE as well

Which would severely harm seniors and disabled people

Plus bankrupt rural hospitals

Seriously-how many Americans are Trump and MAGA Republicans going to kill so they can give Elon Musk another tax break

Let's be clear about what that means:

Behind closed doors, while their constituents slept, Republicans snuck a new ABORTION BAN into the fine print of an already awful bill. A 🚨 marketplace-wide, nationwide ban on abortion coverage that will impact every. single. state. 🚨

The House Republican reconciliation bill will now ban both surgeries and HRT prescription under Medicaid for all Americans.

Earlier, I posted that it wouldn’t affect HRT. This is incorrect.

I was mistaken, because the bill refers to medications for trans people… as “procedures.”
