People are hating on this but fail to considered that this is part of the way to making Heavens Arena from HunterXHunter real.
This will 100% not be built.

This is the Austro-Bavarian counterpart to the Costco hotdog. that shit stays at 1 Euro.
got a nice email from someone in austria asking me to rotate a Leberkässemmel, an austere meatloaf and mustard sandwich on kaiser roll i was previously unfamiliar with. i figured what the hell, let's rotate it and rotate it fast

The AI industry is full of blatant lies, but the claim that we can reliably detect AI-generated writing is one of the worst. The idea that these pseudoscientific AI writing detectors are being used to justify punishing young people makes me incandescent with rage.

Finished season 1 of Andor. This dude is deeply unlikeable and an obsessive creep, but I'm a sucker for a good tragic character.

They.... they can just do that???

(I guess it's not as hard as I'd initially assume since you probably have to list the school you're going to in your student application and they can just reject those visas.)

can't get over how LLMs very frequently give fake citations when you ask them for a source. Why even bother giving me an answer? How is this acceptable for a product roll out across a whole industry? I don't care if these tools otherwise convincingly mimic sentience, I want them to be USEFUL.

Discovered tensor diagrams and how it reduces many calculations in many body quantum physics to drawing arcane runes and it's genuinely a fun way to do math. There's literally a concept in quantum information theory called 'magic,' which makes the parallel even more on-the-nose.

one of the most admirable aspects of human culture, until comparatively recently, is the near universal civilisational compulsion to wear a silly hat after you accumulate any amount of power

fundementally this is where society started going wrong. why don't the powerful wear drip like this anymore

I really like the analogy of women at a zoo getting cocktails and them thinking it's a women in STEM moment as if being around animals makes them zoologists. Simply being in Space does not make you an astronaut or scientist, pilot, or engineer.

I use AI more and it makes mistakes and every time I correct it, it agrees with me, but like, is it always just gonna agree with me even if I'm wrong? I'm always afraid that these models are way too nice and will sacrifice their usefulness for the sake of making the human feel good.

idk German bureaucracy isn't so bad when you're a bit of a procrastinator. When appointments are set in weird times in offices that are open for only a couple hours two days a week or something then you kind of get to wash your hands of some responsibility.

Maybe I'm naive and uniformed but didn't the most infamous dictatorships from the first half of the 20th century hide their cruelty from the public? It was doable back then, but it's as if in the social media era authoritarianism is actually incentivized to lean on it cruelty.

I’m sorry but if your students use AI to write papers and you use AI to grade them zero school is happening. You are running together on a hamster wheel
Why even have a brain, any ideas, any ability to express them, any kind of communication with other people, any desire to solve problems or invent anything, any reason to learn, any use for your eyes or your heart, or any reason to teach or create

pointless performance. It's essentially self-flagellation in response to an enemy that isn't afraid of breaking every law in order to actually get what they want.
Booker, after speaking for more than 24 hours and breaking Thurmond's record, is still standing and still speaking--using his time to warn his colleagues and his country about the dangers of defunding universities and defunding scientific research.

If I reflect on my education I feel like I was never really taught anything. It's just been endless self studying to make up for things that I was apparently supposed to be taught at some point. IDK what that's a reflection of. Am I just bad at following instructions? Is there something real here?

This is an example of how nostalgia for the old days is simply nostalgia for when you were younger.

The idea that America was a post-racial society in the 1970s/1980s only makes sense if you were literally a child at that time and couldn’t observe what any adult was experiencing.
