I've never clicked "purchase" so fast on steam.

Finished season 1 of Andor. This dude is deeply unlikeable and an obsessive creep, but I'm a sucker for a good tragic character.

Der Spiegel called it last year lol. This was in response to a supreme court ruling giving the president immunity for 'official actions' which, idk, I'm no lawyer but that was a rather unhinged supreme court ruling and I wish it got more attention at the time. www.spiegel.de/internationa...

I think it's kind of wild that I know who Doug Ford is and that he appears on my trending section. It's like if the Governor of Massachusetts somehow had global relevance, though, maybe bluesky just has a lot of people from Ontario on it.

This is honestly an absurd clip. The claim made here "Wokism" and Environmentalism is a re-emergence of proto-indo-European (PIE) norms that were 'maximally fascist and communist' and at the same time PIEs would be disgusted by how diluted their traditions are b/c we don't kill our enemies.

Mixed feelings about this one because I disagree but I think the poster is getting at something. I appreciate that lots of people in the comments are ardently defending wikipedia and also pointing out how encyclopedias are meant to be used vs. other sources but....

wanted to see if anyone else has a feeling that weaponized incompetence sometimes pops up research settings but I get r/Professors as the first result acting smug.

The expectation that some people have that you are weaponizing incompetence genuinely makes it hard to ask for help sometimes.

I just have to point out this pun I discovered on Wikipedia's List of cetaceans en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...

literally two days later I smash through those numbers for my run.

I looked at my old stats and when I started training it took a month to work to being able to do 0.4 km at a pace of 7:30 min/km without walking.

PR'd on a bunch on my run yesterday, and got up to 65 kg on bench presses (after bouldering for two hours.) great way to start what I guess is a new training mesocycle with more focus on back exercises.

End of 2023 update on my training arc - approximately 8 months since I started.

Took a long break from longer runs and then PR'd on the 5k and the 2 mile mark immediately. The noob gains won't stop.

I had no idea I had become a strava local legend or that it was possible for my fat ass to achieve this status so easily from my morning runs.

couldnt sleep a couple days ago so I pushed out this run at 10 pm. honestly probably my best time for any run over a km ever.

unfortunately because of skin issues I've been avoiding longer runs to avoid sweating too much. I do wanna try to do a 5 k at this pace soon tho....

I've been adding a km with each run while keeping the same pace and doing my personal best on the first mile for the past 3 runs. Now if I can keep up that rate indefinitely, then this definitely means I'm on a real anime training arc.

The run on the left I did a few days ago and it almost made me throw up, the one on the right, I did yesterday and I added an extra km at a comparable pace and didn't almost throw up so this is what progress looks likes.

barefoot shoes made both of these possible for me tho.
