Thank you for your lifetime of inspiring others, Jane. This quote of hers is not only my favorite quote in general, but it's one that I use when giving presentations to people to encourage them to do what they can, where they can, to protect the earth.

Of course Portland could bring it. We were somewhere in the middle of the length and as we were crossing the Hawthorne bridge, we could still see people coming under the bridge on the route and over to the Morrison Bridge, which was full, too! #nokings

Fun fact: Until fourth grade, I thought a fire drill was a drill that used fire and was so dangerous, all the kids had to leave the school building whenever the workers used it. I’d always peer up and down the halls on the way outside in hope of seeing it.
Fun fact: until I was appreciably into my 20s, I thought they were called oncologists because they were always “on call.”

Not to be too pro technocrat, but it is astounding how much this country depended on the selflessness of like a few hundred thousand highly educated public servants who, for peanuts, made sure our food and medicine and environment etc were safe. And in return these servants were demonized.
