A story I absolutely would have been covering if they hadn't killed off Science in Action.
We had @carnegiescience.bsky.social 's Bob Hazen on about the steps building to this precisely because the chemical traces of early life seemed so promising.

New study shows life’s signature still exists in rocks long after the original biomolecules are gone.

We’ll ask for the leaves to be cleared.
We have quite a long list of roads we are asking for leaves to be cleared!
The good news is we have been advised Wake Green Road between Yardley Wood Road and Church Rd is scheduled for resurfacing in February next year.

This morning Cllr Philip, Cllr dog Mason and I checked the drains on Wake Green Road near to Lench’s Close, where it flooded yesterday. We have taken photos and will ask for them all to be flushed out. We’ve also reported some bad pot holes near to the Warwick Court bus stop.

@ecorecord.bsky.social The (famous) No 50 bus broke down and I walked past this neglected verge near the Smithfield site in Moat Lane. I’ve added pictures of 14 wild flowers to iNaturalist but don’t know how to create a collage for @wildflowerhour.bsky.social There were other species not flowering

My incredibly eagle-eyed neighbour spotted that the BBC video “Free bus passes for under 22s in England scrapped” was filmed at the bus stop opposite the Dovecote in Moseley. While it’s disappointing news, it was lovely to see a little glimpse of our local gem 🕊️

Having just finished the final episode, I’m filled with both sadness and gratitude. The weekly programme will be greatly missed — a true loss for the BBC and for science communication worldwide.
