Just a thought, the House of Lords would make a great ballroom.. with added tacky gold leaf of course.... call it the Farage Room maybe?
Coming to a dystopia near you...
At first I thought this table was a joke. But no, the proposals to restore the Houses of Parliament really are costed at a min of £8.4b and to take 19 yrs; max, £19.4b and 84 yrs. A normal country would go: that's absurd. Let's build a new one for a billion.

What is Peter Mandelson discussing with Jeffrey Epstein in this email?

The "G" is clearly Gordon Brown. The "Brown" isn't, at least I think it isn't.

It's time to legalise *and* regulate.

I think China is pretty much what Trump, and his backers, would like to make the US into, with him of course as supreme dictator. It is jealousy, pure and simple, maybe with a little projection thrown in.

We would appear to be in a "choose your dictator from the few available situation."
BREAKING: President Donald Trump warns the UK against getting into business with China, saying it would be "very dangerous."

He seems to have forgotten he has agreed to visit Beijing in April and invited Chinese President Xi Jinping for a state visit later next year

Re town centers, I feel looking at Ipswich, that there is a huge need for housing, a need for 15min living, and a large amount of possible housing stock near to buildings designed for shopping... allow and promote change of use and get people living there.

James I get the feeling he is doing his job like a barrister who knows he is going to lose the case but also knows that if he flirts a bit with the judge he might be in the running for a dinner date later.

Trump's speech included a line that any non-US NATO policymakers breathing a sigh of relief today should note: he doesn't see the point of defending territory the US doesn't own. Which would seem to rule out Article V.

Trump is obviously ill with some kind of virus and would be excusable but the irony is that they cannot say that because then they would have to admit he is ill and not the superbeing they have spun him to be.

I understand the logic of providing Trump an off-ramp so he can back out with some dignity, but I think it's dangerous to do so. Each time these issues are resolved this way, he will be tempted to conduct himself this way again. What he needs is a public spanking.
