Not impeaching and removing the president should require 60 votes in the senate and approval from the parliamentarian.

This seems like the shock an American might have finding out there’s a country where it’s common to not like burgers.
This week I learned that in America its quite common not to like curry

NEW info on shipwreck attack. It gets worse.

The 2 survivors climbed atop wreckage and waved to overhead.

"Some of the people viewing the video thought ... could have been an attempt to surrender"

Others "said the most logical explanation was ... signaling for a rescue."

I remember political discourse about the dems being the “blame America first” party. I’ve always thought that’s actually a pretty good thing wrapped in a negative frame!

We’re in a position of enormous global power, and it just makes sense to consider whether we’re living up to our values.
If we’re going to assess the future of American hegemony, I think it’s worth considering that we’ve been setup to function as a kind of global sin eater because of our capabilities and population, and that nobody’s particularly excited to try and replace that. We’re massive, and inertia is real.

Disney adults canceling subscriptions, vacations, etc really are making the Harry Potter adults that threw a fit over a $60 video game look like huge bitches

Disney/ABC have a responsibility to refuse to participate in corruption.

Kimmel must be reinstated. If Disney/ABC agree to this extortion then perhaps creatives + workers should consider collective action to push back. Same w/buying park + cruise tickets if they bow.

People have power. Ask Target

"No one is above the law" is a wild thing to say since we all watched video of Brad Lander getting abducted by people who wouldn't identify themselves. Abolish ICE.
CONFIRMED

ICE accuses Lander of assaulting law enforcement and impeding a federal officer

My four year old is picking up chess, and it’s great.

“I want to capture your pieces!”
“Well, in chess you’ll have to make threats before you can capture things.”
“I’m going to capture ALL of your pieces!”

Kid got me!

All the credit that Tim Walz got as a VP candidate for good stuff that Minnesota has done? Melissa Hortman (and a bunch of other women) led the hard fight to get bills on his desk and make it politically safe for him to sign.

With the trouble finding housing for military members in LA, I wonder if anyone out there is demanding Hegseth violate the third amendment without knowing even knowing we have rules about that.

I wonder if there’s a Miyazaki movie to be made here. This is probably too on the nose. Imagine some druids in a world where everyone has a bit of magic, and then everything goes to shit when someone convinces everyone they can ignore the druids, forego their own magic, and then the world rots.
going on twitter and seeing people use the chatgpt studio ghibli image generator makes me think about how miyazaki is likely putting together a hit list of everyone who uses it

It should terrify everyone that a green card holder was black bagged and disappeared to Louisiana simply for having opinions this administration dislikes. They're building the prisons and camps to do it to citizens. The time to stand up to this is now.
Until last night, the ICE detainee locator stated Khalil was at Elizabeth, NJ—even though his wife had been unable to find him there yesterday. This morning, his location has been updated to Jena — a very remote, GEO group-run facility in the middle of rural Louisiana.

Around 5th grade we had some sort of group test. One of the questions was “what’s 1/3+1/4” or something, multiple choice. My group said 2/7 and I tried to show them the right way but I failed. I wrote down the right answer anyway. My group got mad and the teacher made me switch because democracy.
