In shogi, a player can capture an opponent’s piece and then “drop” it back on the board as the player’s piece.
If chess allowed “dropping” pieces in that way, I suspect it would have fewer draws too.

It reminds me of things I don’t like about Jordan Peterson. There’s a weird mix of “be an individual”, “be accountable to yourself”, but also paired with a LOT more “I’m so persecuted by society and I want it to stop WAH” than is appropriate for the individualistic ideas
