The idea of a "rotating Taoiseach" is utter bollocks.
Elect either the leader of the biggest party or the best person in government parties suited to the job, then shut up and get on with it.
It's the most important job in Ireland, not a time-share for fragile entitled egos.

Genuinely can't believe how close a known criminal came to being elected in #GE24 😬😲 Bad enough the Americans actually did it but we shouldn't copy them in everything!

Things we've learned from the election
1. The far right has been rejected (now let's stop giving them air time).
2. Posts and followers on social media don't reflect real life (they are mainly bots and/or not from Ireland)
3. The Irish pay no heed to Musk, and he doesn't have influence here!

Sadly many folks in the #NewsMedia love political outlier stories. #Journalists who amplify sensationalist stuff become the witting or unwitting tools of extremists

Eamon Ryan on RTÉ magical thinking talk. Need for a radical rethink of their policies that does not sneer at turf cutters and makes retrofitting affordable and climate change policies equitable. #GE24

Shocking as it sounds, it’s quite possible people prefer the civility and community of Bluesky over being force fed some cooked up algorithm concocted by a bombastic billionaire to amplify trolls, bots, and miscreants. Imagine that!

It's funny, the little differences between Hiberno-English and English. For example, in Ireland, to "get a land" means to be shocked, whereas in England it's a plan to colonise a country
