What makes days like yesterday particularly charged with mixed emotions is standing beside younger generations of women going through the same systemic misogyny and violence, listening to survivors having to share their stories again to push for change we should have accomplished by now.

Less than a month from the 5th anniversary of the encounter that would change my life. A grab & hold, a shake, a violent cough that sent my health into what I suspect will be a lifelong tailspin. A young man trying on his bravado not realizing the permanent damage left in its wake.
