This is where we are at. For what? For nothing. For stupidity. For ego. For an old, demented malignant narcissist who expects the world to jump at his every whim. Well, when you follow international news you can see that the world has pretty much had enough of his bullshit.

More than 200,000 Danish citizens have signed a petition to buy California as a response to Trump’s attempt to take Greenland.

They say they will provide Californians with “rule of law, universal health care, fact-based politics, and a lifetime supply of Danish pastries.”

I just came across a fiction magazine that requires submissions to be sent by snail mail, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope for the reply.

I'll try my luck with them as soon as we're back in 1994.

But the bigger reason that you should write and make art, is that your work is someone else's respite.

You don't know who they are. They may be someone in the future. But if you have escaped into a book, or a painting, or a TV show... Someone created that.

You can do that for someone else.

I don't use LLMs. They're just stochastic parrots that deliver a string of text that looks like the most likely response to a question that a consensus-human would emit. It's not an answer, it's an answer-shaped object that's wrong 25-75% of the time. Utterly useless to me.
