It can sometimes feel like the history of the physical sciences is on its back foot. The AIP History Weekly Edition set out to show that, globally, there's so much going on that you can talk about it weekly and not get to everything. Here's some of what we couldn't get to in 2025. #histsci

You'll be shocked to learn that Trump and his buddies are using The "Trump" Kennedy Center to loot, grift, and hand out money to pals, just like he did with his charity and inaugurations.

Well probably not shocked.

Sheldon Whitehouse is working to expose this.

cheap rubber prosthetic hand. very obvious.
Trump's hand is fake. His real hand was removed. The insiders all know it. Signatures with a fake hand aren't constitutional.
I am determined as God is my witness to start the Trump fake hand conspiracy theory. His hand isn't showing signs of an undisclosed illness. It's a fake painted Halloween costume hand because his hand was already removed. It's time.

When you say that “only the sick kids die from the measles”… you’re telling sick and disabled people that they’re expendable.

You’re telling them their lives don’t matter.

That vaccinating to protect them is too high a price.

That’s eugenics.

Also, healthy kids die from measles too.

Get on board, historians everywhere. Don't let them steal our past. We can do this. We must do this.
Not tanned, not really rested, but definitely ready.
Scholars who do historical research, eat your Wheaties (or whatever else fuels you). In the year of the nation's 250th birthday, there will be all sorts of nonsense that we will counter-program with actual history.

“…the federal government will store some of the collection in warehouses, and trash the rest.”

Doesn’t bode well for specialized Federal libraries.

“Can’t believe NYC elected a Muslim as mayor.”

In truth—a Black American Christian woman swearing in a Ugandan American Muslim of South Asian ethnicity as his Syrian American wife holds the Qurans he swears in on, all while standing on the steps of a subway station—is the most NYC thing imaginable.

Auntie once thought the USA would continue to dominate science and the humanities over Russia and China because we had intellectual freedom at our educational institutions and our bureaucrats weren’t all political appointees whose only qualification was loyalty to the autocrat. Happy New Year. VOTE.
President Trump – and Republican lawmakers across the US – have shown they will use all the power they have to reshape American campus culture, in the hope of reshaping America.

A small college in Florida offers a snapshot of what that looks like.
New College of Florida is a preview of Trump’s plan for Harvard
Trump and MAGA want to remake higher education. New College is their blueprint for how to do it.
