Honestly after years of corruption, the Rubiales kiss, the insane Qatar decision, and then the FIFA Peace Prize, this is easy for me.

I have heard so many people crying about having to pay for housing for illegal immigrants because they heard about hotels housing asylum seekers.

I have heard so many people crying about having to pay for housing for illegal immigrants because they heard about hotels housing asylum seekers.
But the vast majority of people that we think of as "undocumented" have documents! They are asylum seekers or have TPS, and they have taken great pains to stay on the right side of the immigration laws. That is exactly why ICE grabs them at their periodic immigration interviews.

This is not just a violation of her Constitutional rights, it's a violation of *our* Constitutional rights. The First Amendment isn't there to protect journalists -- it's there to protect the public's access to what journalists produce.

I would go so far as to say you also shouldn't share a video clip of someone speaking without the link to the entire conversation/appearance/context, if available.
you should not share a post that's a screenshot without a link to a news item. you should not share a post that's a video or picture without some kind of sourcing. we're in a new bad era and these are now basic practices.

For 40 years I've argued the American left's "states' rights bad" stance was wrong. The left accepted this in the shadow of the monstrous actions taken by states during the black freedom struggle.

Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.
