Hey! It is out now for all to play! itch.io/jam/dosember... — please also check out the other DOStember Game Jam entries :)
If you’re going to imply that Jews run the world then I will both be extremely disappointed and also won’t have anything to do with you ever again.

Awesome Afterburner sequel. Don’t play the Saturn port.

Remember, "I don't know, I lack sufficient information on this topic" is NEVER an acceptable answer.

Instead, loudly state the first opinion that pops into your head, speak with authority, and gaslight anyone who disagrees until they begin to question everything they know.

Hey so you can actually just cross your eyes and get a 3d image from the NSO Virtual Boy. It’s tiny though.

I’d like to see N64 games in an emulator with texture interpolation disabled. My sense is that the big problem with the textures isn’t that they’re lower res than Saturn and PSX, but it’s that they’re too low res to interpolate and wind up with anything but a smear. Like interpolating chiptunes.

N64 and GBA really needed a dedicated sound chip. PC could’ve used that too ;)

I always try to point out that Pac Land was before Super Mario Bros, which can be seen as a refinement on the idea. Pac Land even had lots of secrets to find as well as neat environments not seen again until much later platformers.

SMB is better but Pac paved the way.
Pac-Land and Pac-Man Championship Edition are amongst Toru Iwatani's favorite Pac-Man installments.

However, the same can't be said about Super Pac-Man; Iwatani has been quoted calling it "boring."

I don’t know who needs to hear Jesse Jackson leading the kids on Sesame Street in this beautiful call-and-response reminding them that every child is somebody, but here it is

We really lost a lot of expressiveness when we went to razor-sharp tablet-drawn digital animation and CG

Post a favorite game that got a 75 or less on Metacritic

Here are some of them. They don’t know what’s good.

I like how in Castlevania you can take a million hits from enemies but if you fall down the stairs you instantly die. Weak ankles I guess.

What if instead it rescues consumer electronics?

To use my usual example, the Atari 2600—which has 128 bytes of RAM total—was sold commercially, somewhere in the world, from 1977 to 1992. Its programmers kept discovering new things they could make it do, because they had reason to plumb its depths.
this RAM crisis feels like it’s going to ruin consumer electronics over the next decade. Bloomberg reports that Sony is considering pushing the PS6 release to 2028 or even 2029 www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

I think people often colloquially use “inflation” as shorthand for “shit is way more expensive than it was before”

“The hardware itself is very modest: a dual-core ESP32-S3 clocked at 240 MHz and a 320×240 pixel ILI9341 SPI TFT display using 16-bit RGB565 color”

…ok dude now I’m expecting Quake 2. 240mhz is nothing to sniff at.

I also played the Amiga one first. Brilliant game and my favorite of all the bubble bobbles.
There's a sweet little 35th anniversary for the release of one of my favourite cutesy single-screen games: Parasol Stars: The Story of Bubble Bobble II.

It's the anni of the original PC Engine release in Japan, but the lovely Amiga version is the one I first played and fell in love with it.

Happy #RandomGameSaturday! This time it’s Gex— IN JAPANESE! They made him adorable for the cover. It’s Kirby in reverse.

QRT: Outtrigger is really good and I wish more people could’ve played it. Solid arcade blue skies twist on Quake 3 Arena and supports kb+mouse.
