Last Christmas
I gave you my heart
Not really my heart
Just somebody's heart
This year
If the cops should appear
Please tell them that you don't know me

Also, friends attending #WorldCon, I sincerely hope you’re masking and taking Covid precautions.

It isn’t going away. It kills and disables.

Please do not add your names to the list of people I’ve lost to this fucking disease.

Wear a mask. Protect yourselves and others.

I love that #SeattleWorldcon2025 is streaming so many panels because it does mean I’ve been watching panels all day instead of working

We got 99 artists but a glitch ain't fun! 😁

The Art Show Reception is actually Thursday, 4–6 p.m. (not 6–8 p.m. as in the newsletter).

Come meet the artists, enjoy their work, and maybe take home your new favorite piece.

This framing is atrocious. Another way of saying this is: "you are obligated to support a party doing rancid abhorrent things if the other party might do worse things." That is such a massive error in calculation I'm surprised a quick-minded stand up comic would miss it completely.
“The Democrats didn’t do enough on Gaza, so I withheld my vote to make a statement.”

“Well, Trump won and now he’s gonna destroy Gaza.”

“Yep. We’re paying the price for the Democrats’ incompetence.”

“‘We?’ The Gazans are paying the price, not us”

Pause.

“I needed to make a statement.”

🧵 Here's the thing. To really "resist" you have to do more than rant on social media. You need to change your consumer habits. Start with tech:

-boycott Meta and Twitter
-install an operating system like Ubuntu
-use open source software like LibreOffice
-use Firefox and Duck Duck Go
