I don’t like being referred to as a Yankee but I’ve realized this is not at all because I’m Southern, but because I specifically resent being associated with traditional New England Protestant culture and its flavorless foods
All people from the U.S. are Yankees. I say this as a person born and raised in The South because pissing off That Specific Kind of Southerner is a moral good.

5 year old has decided he wants to go birdwatching today, and came up with the following rules for good birdwatching:
1 - Be quiet so you don’t disturb the birds
2 - Write down the birds
3 - Have fun
4 - Don’t forget to look through your binoculars
5 - Don’t bring your cat or your dog.

I believe that nickels being bigger and thicker than dimes despite containing less spending power implies they are herbivorous prey and dimes are predators.
