Simplistic but perfect. My kid at 2 had this fully memorized complete with dramatic intonations: “banana? BA-NA-NA!” At 5 he still refers to it as a reference point when there are sharing struggles in kindergarten and associated social settings.

We have a system where we retain the boxes (nested in a crate in a semi-accessible storage area) but the game components readily at hand in clear stackable bins & bags with instructions if needed. Then when kid grows out of a puzzle or game, i can rebox for handoff.

200 g of 100% hydration starter w half rye, half bread flour. Then 100 g AP flour and 100 g mesquite. didn’t measure the carob, just tipped in a generous puff. Other ingredients: baking powder, date syrup, choc chips, melted butter, milk, eggs (whites beaten separately & folded at end)

Mesquite and carob sourdough discard waffles this morning. Incredibly good. Thank you!

In NYC you can use the 311 app to request homeless assistance outreach team - I do this regularly when I see folks in the same spot for a while, obviously it isn’t very effective for someone who is moving around - but their resources are very limited. It doesn’t have to be this way!

It’s terrible. If she is so agitated that she is a danger to self (not accessing shade/water during a code red heat emergency like yesterday and today), outreach teams can use NYPD to transport to ER, but she will ultimately be bounced back outside if she isn’t willing/able to go to a shelter.
