Residential school deniers will be speaking outside the Indigenous Residential School History and Dialogue Centre at UBC tomorrow.

As Angela says about this cruel event: “This is not academic disagreement. It is an act of denial that causes real harm to Survivors, their families, and communities.”

This bobtail squid burrowing into the sand is already adorable, but please watch till the very end!

It sticks out its little arms and earnestly sprinkles sand over itself 🦑𓂃◌𓈒𓐍

Trying again to convince city to plant trees on my block. Street upgrades ~3 yrs ago with promise of trees + blvds a few years after. Last yr I was told no firm date + planting trees contingent on multimodal path being installed the length of city. So 5-10 yrs? 😐 We need trees now! #nanaimo
“19: Plant a tree in your front yard, and fight for street trees on your street, in your neighborhood, and across your city. There are literally dozens of ways they make life better on streets and in cities. It’s one of the best investments a city can make.” — @brenttoderian.bsky.social

Happy Newt Year!

It’s my last piece of artwork of 2025, and it’s already 2026 in a lot of places! I’m feeling so lucky to have your support and I’ll keep sending out my little critters to everyone with the love of bugs and nature!

Some images of my designs from an ecological landscape design course I took this fall. Students were given client + site info incl. survey responses on what they were looking for in a redesign.

I was out of my depths re: the hardiness zone, climate + plants so had a steep learning curve! Cont. ⬇️

It’s possible to have a safe and healthy holiday gathering. Mask up wherever you go, ventilate the space, run purifiers and test before gathering.

Boomer energy w/ a side of ableism + sexism. WFH means parents (moms), disabled people, ND folks, introverts, caregivers, covid consc, etc. can work safely + effectively. I LOVE wfh + I’m efficient. No office drama, cleaning office dog pee off the floor, having to hear about people’s diets, etc.

Carney rode into power claiming nation-building project of pipelines & ports & profit for corporations.

Canada-Alberta pipeline MOU today proves what nation-building on these lands always is - devastating colonial extraction on Indigenous lands without Indigenous consent

No consent, no pipelines!

Working on a diploma in ecological landscape design. Learning about grade, water movement, bylaws + best practices. Problem-solving this case study has been fun + challenging. Focus on plants that are low maintenance, zone 4, drought + deer tolerant. Looking at a lot of native plants which I love!

Ooh, that was fun! I didn’t get photos while we worked, but folks from the neighbourhood + beyond came out today for the second part of our boulevard beautification project. Today we moved 8 yards of soil into place + laid out + planted lots of native plants. #nanaimo #vancouverisland #nativeplants

You failed to mention that Indigenous people are shouldering 20% of your austerity budget cuts.

This is #apartheid in Canada.

Following in your father's footsteps, as predicted.
Carney government cuts unfairly hit First Nations
Budget cuts to Indigenous services violate equality rights and risk legal, moral, and financial consequences.
