Dems didn't brand "white dudes" as the "bad guy" as Portnoy suggests. We branded people who support a toxic, hate-filled convicted felon who abuses women and lies constantly about everything as the bad guys, and they just happen to be disproportionately white men.

Give a man a fish and someone with a thousand fishes is going to bitch about people getting free handouts. Teach a man to fish? Yeah, that person with a thousand fishes is going to bitch about that too.

We do an exercise at offsites called Elephants, Tigers & Paper Tigers.

- Tigers are things threatening the team, risks
- Paper tigers are things that seem like risks, but aren’t

Put my name into the hat for Unbound Gravel 2026. Going with the 50 mile route this year. If I can get another good year of riding in at altitude then next year I'll submit for the 100 mile route. Now to wait and see if I'm selected.

Garage door spring just broke. Second one this year, but at different houses. Just ordered new ones and going to do it myself this time. I already have the spring adjuster sticks and the rest is straight forward.

I told my boss I was “heads down” today. I meant emotionally. In the break room. Crying into a muffin.

Since I learned there was such a thing as eyelash mites, and they are VERY common, my eyes have itched almost all day long. Not sure how I'm going to unlearn this. www.uclahealth.org/news/article...

Wish I could go back to KC for the Maple Leaf Gravel Grind in a couple weeks. That ride tore me up last year. I want to improve my performance there so bad. Heck, I think I could do better on the 70 mile route this year than I did on the 40 mile route last year. Putting it on the calendar for 2026.

At the end of 2023 my longest ride was 12 miles
At the end of 24 it was 43 miles.
This year I've done 3 rides over 60 miles including an 84 mile ride this weekend!!

Never thought I'd get to this level but I'm really enjoying it.

Now to get 250 more miles in to reach another goal for this year.

It’s weird being in San Francisco after so many years and not being here for a conference. Had to hit up the Chieftain for VMware “unparty” memories. Should have hit up the Toronado as well. Might hit up Dennys by Moscone in the morning before heading to the airport.
