Nonsense legislation by those who TOTALLY LACK ANY UNDERSTANDING of the US education system but have clear DISCRIMINATORY intentions. Limiting F visas to 4 yrs will cause trouble for students working for their PhDs, which rarely take <4 yrs. Contact your representatives!

Watch the video. Share far and wide. Now is NOT the time to be complacent if we want to have long and healthy lives.
First thing on their list was to gut medical science research, All research really. And they have succeeded. Until we start putting balls to the fire, these few individuals will continue their destructive spree. 🧪
The @NYTimes has done a fantastic job on explaining what the Trump administration’s savage
cuts to biomedical research mean: cures that won’t happen. Please share this widely. This is a catastrophe. www.nytimes.com/2025/08/24/o...

We have to stop Trump well before the 2026 midterms, or there will be no free and fair elections.

The CR fight in September is the next chance for Congress to act. Democrats: be ready.
They’re lighting democracy on fire.

Finally, a Democrat who gets what's going on and who has enough of a spine to do what needs to be done.

This goes out to all the people who won’t shut up about optimism and what a great opportunity this is to “fix” science by gutting the training pipeline and eliminating peer review
I can't stress enough how close U.S. science is to the cliff.

"Numbers released in May by the National Science Foundation (NSF) indicate that if Congress approves the cuts to the agency proposed by the White House, the number of early-career researchers it supports could fall by 78%" (@science.org)
‘It’s a nightmare.’ U.S. funding cuts threaten academic science jobs at all levels

There are 2 previous historical cases of countries destroying their science and universities, crippling them for decades: Lysenkoism in the USSR and Nazi Germany. The Trump administration will be the 3rd.
It's not just budgets but research, institutions, expertise, and training the next generation.
