Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

This is how you do it. No secret “enemies” lists. Instead, public accountability records. It’s not a rhetorical difference, it’s a completely different world view.
We're officially live. It's incredibly important to have a real record of how our public servants are behaving and this database will be a powerful tool for researchers, reporters, and ordinary Americans.
1/6 A new standard for public accountability is here. GLOW—Government Lawyers Oversight Watchdog—is officially launching today to hold government lawyers accountable. We're unveiling The Government Lawyers Database at glowlaw.org. #RuleOfLaw #Accountability

50/50 chance that building has a smoker out back.
(unironically) This kind of smart, walkable, mixed-use urbanism is illegal to build in most American cities

Every time I see him being creepy I think of him telling Billy Bush that he pops a tic tac in his mouth to keep his breath fresh and I'm like "Buddy, tic tacs are not magic."

Trump’s pardon attorney Ed Martin claims Trump is pardoning his Georgia co-defendants and other “alternate electors.”

Note: Trump’s Georgia co-defendants are charged under state law. The president can’t pardon people for state crimes.

On balance, I don't think there would be significant value gained continuing the shutdown given the latter. There should be serious questions for Schumer and Senate Democratic leadership after this debacle.

Do you support a change in Senate leadership after this surrender?

Not picking on Booker - we should ask this of literally all the no votes.
As I've always said, I will not support a government funding bill that continues to raise our costs, jeopardizes our health care, and hurts the people of my state.

Boy are those Dem senators gonna be “very disappointed” when they don’t get their ACA extension vote.

Should be pretty clear that without House commitment on a vote on ACA extensions, it is purely symbolic as part of the Senate deal
Q: Will you assure House Democrats they'll get a vote on ACA subsidies by a date certain?

MIKE JOHNSON: Ah -- no. I'm not promising anyone anything.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.
