NEW: Air traffic growth is not a guarantee of economic growth, despite industry claims.

These claims, often echoed by governments to justify airport expansion, are undermined by new research.

The California Gov. is right. Worth remembering that as of July 2025 a UN court says countries can sue now each other over climate change. But in order to give weight to this, we must first get our own house in order #climate #sustainability #ireland #usa #irishpolitics

One planet. Two 'realities'.

The Irish government may talk the talk — but their actions speak louder than any promises.

Amid climate-driven suffering, they continue to prioritise profit over people, the planet, and public health.

It really is that simple.

Cork farm trialling new techniques to cut emissions
On a windswept Cork farm, hi-tech cow collars track animal health and solar panels glint on the milking parlour's roof, as Ireland tries to reduce its agricultural carbon footprint.

It’s concerning that Michael O’Leary can seemingly just call up The Irish Times and have inflammatory nonsense like this published that includes derogatory remarks about public officials.

There’s no genuine newsworthiness here — just provocation.

Do better Irish Times! Please.

Does Ireland have more migrants and refugees than other European countries?
It would be easy to get the impression from common narratives that Ireland has a lot more migrants or refugees than other EU countries. But is that true? Let’s have a look at the data.

Fun fact: Madrid has lanes on motorways for vehicles with two or more people, with a fine of €200 for non-compliance. These are central, bidirectional lanes that change direction to match peak traffic flow & also designated for buses. @dublinbusnews.bsky.social #ireland

Our leaders’ hope for a ‘discount’ is a yet another shocking, unforgivable, betrayal.

This isn’t an accident. It’s policy by design.

The required reallocation of space from cars back to people simply hasn’t happened. We’re still designing cities around cars...

And the consequences? Huge impacts on our health, our shared environment. and the planet.
