No social media platform is perfect but some are less harmful than others. Twitter (X) has tightly controlled algorithms that routinely show explicit, provocative & misleading content in a play for clicks no matter the cost. But you can cut the cord.. #safetyonline

Every little helps. Even small reductions in meat consumption, particularly red meat can have a meaningful impact. #climate #ireland
A global shift to plant-based diets could free an area of land as big as the US, China, the EU and Australia combined: restored ecosystems could draw down CO2, making our diets carbon negative. Average food emissions per person would be reduced from about 2,000 kg CO2eq/year to -160 kg CO2eq/year.
From nuts to kelp: The 'carbon-negative' foods that help reverse climate change
Eating low-carbon foods helps reduce emissions, but some foods actually suck up carbon from the atmosphere for good, leaving the climate in a better place. Could we eat more of them?

🇮🇪 National Transport Authority: nah, too expensive.
Why do cycle bridges matter?

Cycle bridges create safe, direct routes for people on bikes, especially across busy roads, railways, or waterways. They remove conflict points with motor traffic, reducing the risk of collisions and making cycling more enjoyable for everyone.

"High social mobility acts as a 'firewall' against illiberal populism". What is social mobility? Images like this old 2018 map from the OECD can help us start the discussion. Would you push for tax-free inheritances even if it forced shut the door for others? #equalopportunity #ireland #meritocracy

None of this makes sense. Decarbonising transport is key to us meeting emissions targets and avoiding €28 billion in fines, but decisions have been made to delay all key public transport projects

We can’t go on like this.

In just two days, the average FTSE 100 CEO has made a median workers full time annual salary.

The right calls this “wealth creation”.

It’s wealth extraction.

Time to tax the rich.

As the year ends, let me thank public school teachers who, under difficult circumstances, are doing their best to educate our kids.

If this country is to flourish, we need the best education system in the world. Let’s fight for a nation where teachers are well-paid & respected.

Did you know, political parties with strong environmental policies in Ireland have less than 20% vote share between them? In today's world, cost of living, housing and immigration are top voter priorities. Climate change directly affects all 3.

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable. Remember: We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

It is not so much the "moving back in with the parents" video itself that has caused outrage. It's the fact that it forces us to acknowledge the decades of policy failure behind it. It's hard to comprehend the sheer amount of Irish adults pushed away by neoliberalism. We must never forget. Never.
